So I guess that begs the question, if we did have a hypothetical warchest and you could throw $1-1.2M/year at a player this offseason, who are you throwing it at?
Gotta pay the kids already there though
Watch us sign multiple players up
Early
Doibt tex would still be on $700ish.. reacon it wouldve dropped down to $500 max when he re-signed last year.I was just listening to Sensible Crow who was listing off the FA's this upcoming offseason, and dare I say it, but do we have a potential Warchest situation a brewing in the salary cap?
Sloane: $900+
Crouch: $450ish
Doedee: $600ish
Fish: $350ish
Hopefully not, but Tex: $700ish
Considering only 2 of those players are in my current round 1 team, it's actually very rosy picture of the state of the club IMO.
And himmelburgs bro..Hollands
And himmelburgs bro..
And that lad from essendon as a smith replacement. (His name escapes me at the minute)
The only problem with Hollands is that he is contracted still until the end of next year.. so it would cost us bigtime at the trade table.
The other two, as FA’s, wouldnt cost us anything apart from cap space.
Josh Kelly ‘allegedly’ poos in the showers?Mason Redman is the one you are thinking of and as much as I rate him, I just don't see the point of going after him, it is not where we need to be cashing dollars in. Himmelberg is a good pick up though, GWS don't have huge manoeuvring room so the contract won't need to be ridiculous to get him out ,plus he hates Josh Kelly ( rumoured to be a waffle stomper) so we should be able to get him.
As for Hollands or any other young mid gun, contracts are a one way street, we should be throwing money to 1) get an elite mid and 2) force us to have to trade our first before Hamish pisses it up against a wall.
4+ at a minimum most likely. Which makes it questionable to offer him a deal. With Smith getting on and Doedee yet to sign on, we could be short some experience in defence. Harry Himmelberg looks like a good fit.
As he turns 28 next year, what would the optimum number of years for a HH/Crows contract be? And what do you think would be the minimum years contract required to get him here?
Unfortunately you could be right.4+ at a minimum most likely. Which makes it questionable to offer him a deal.
I imagine you could possibly work the money around to be largely frontloaded, but as the younger players start working towards their 2nd or 3rd deals our ability to do that to an extreme degree probably lessens somewhat.Unfortunately you could be right.
Not sure how many of those kids are getting dramatic contract raises from what they are already on though. It would certainly take a slice out of the cap, but the beauty of our list is most the youth are still role players, and probably not demanding huge interest elsewhere quite yet.Gotta pay the kids already there though

You don't follow Adelaide muchNot sure how many of those kids are getting dramatic contract raises from what they are already on though. That might change by round 24 this year, but as it stands I suspect most the kids will be getting only modest bumps when the re-sign.
Well, If that's what you wanna believe then have it.You don't follow Adelaide much
Josh Kelly ‘allegedly’ poos in the showers?
Did anyone pick it up? If Cotchin was captain he was all about cleaning up.On the GWS board, shouldn't be hard to track down, they have about 8 threads
And yeah, you wouldn't pick it by the way he comes across in interviews so I'd have my doubts but you know, we all have our quirks.

And how would that news come out?
One of Redman or Himmelberg and throw the rest at Hollands. So I guess that begs the question, if we did have a hypothetical warchest and you could throw $1-1.2M/year at a player this offseason, who are you throwing it at?
Rumour on Sensible Crow was the McAsey yearly value had a 4 in the front of it too.Doibt tex would still be on $700ish.. reacon it wouldve dropped down to $500 max when he re-signed last year.
But yeah.. Sloane is going to free up a heap of space and if Doedee and crouch end up departing there’s going to be another heap of coin available there too..
Definitely in a healthy position salary cap wise.
I didn't know what it was, so i googled it. apparently they stomp down the drainDid anyone pick it up? If Cotchin was captain he was all about cleaning up.

3 year 2.4 would put him out of GWS reach, would have to get our entire playing list to sign a stat dec on never waffle stomped though, it appears to be a line in the sand for Himmelberg
HH would get a 3 year deal if he stayed but to move him would require 4 - thats where some creative accounting may help3 year 2.4 would put him out of GWS reach, would have to get our entire playing list to sign a stat dec on never waffle stomped though, it appears to be a line in the sand for Himmelberg

And someone else mentioned they believed Seeds was still on a healthy wicket of $500k-ish.
If thats true then squeezing $900k capspace out of those 2 non playing listspots would be like a FA free swing at an A-Grader
