Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

I would love to rotate Treacy through the midfield instead of Jackson just like we used to do with Pav. The size and agression would be awesome to see on full display and surely help with our clearences.
Before Jackson came West I had the same thinking, but Jackson will be a better mobile ruck option and Treacy the better forward.

I don't mean as a ruck though, I meant rotate Treacy as a ruck rover. Would match up really well against people like Cripps.

Wonderful. We can now put that one to bed. :thumbsu:

Who's the next messiah we can sink our efforts into? Logan McDonald? Chad Warner? Georgiades?
Messiah Wanted. Must be also to meet absurd expectations of a rabid fan base, play 200 games in a row and become a future hall of famer.
Must be originally from WA to add further to the feel good factor for fans.
Willing to pay 3 first round picks plus Caleb Serong, Sean Darcy and Hayden Young.
Contact Colin Young for further info.

If those are the options I'm going against the grain (i.e. forwards) and taking the Chad. The only way I could enjoy his smug smile would be at Freo.

Which of the players we drafted this year is most likely to win an All Australian in future?
All ridiculous predictions welcome!
Davies. Quality inteceptors that can kick don't actually have to defend to be AA KPDs.

Also Knobel since if there is one thing Freo has done alright over the journey, its picking ruckman.

Direct from someone who has spoken to Chad is that we have certainly been in contact repeatedly with him. He has a three year contract at Sydney fyi.
No idea what that means re him returning to WA but shows that we are always “asking questions“ as I’m sure other clubs do to our players.

Mentally I have Chad in the "it's not going to happen" category.

Forward-ruck needs to be about goals. Jackson still has a bit of work to do is n that regard.

I would like to see Taberner, Amiss and Treacy almost locked into our forward line, with some kind of rotation of Jackson.

We really need to be moving past Taberner asap.
Can’t really do that trading out Lobb.
Need to train Jackson in that role, but more emphasis on Darcy rotating through. More like a 60/40 rather then the 80/20 Darcy had with Lobb.

Fyfe should be training there as well. Rotate him and OMeara through the midfield. There’s unpredictable options for the forward line.

Looked at Lobb’s year. Really felt like he kicked more goals. Only 36, which isn’t good neither bad.

For the number of times we kicked it to him, it’s actually a pretty poor output, Shultz kicked 30 and was probably the target half as many times as Lobb, even Frederick kicked 28 and our players seemed to avoid kicking it to him as much as possible. If tabs plays a whole season he’ll easily surpass 36 goals and Amiss will come close as well.

I would say every club in Melbourne is badgering Caleb Serong until he signs that contract extension.
If we get to Feb or March and he hasn’t signed **** I’ll be nervous

It allows Amiss to come in and play. Develop him with adequate cover from Tabs, Jackson, Fyfe, Treacy.

Lobb spoke himself up as he’s a 70+ goal power forward. He ll be rucking for Bulldogs and not the target. Be stupid of Bevo to not develop Darcy, JUH, Naughton at the behest of a 30 year old. Stefan Martin leaves could mean Darcy plays ruck ahead of softie Lobb to suit him, but really shouldn’t.

The club should definitely look for McDonald and probably are given Tabs’ age and injuries. Any tall WA forwards are gold. Believe that’s the only missing puzzle for Fremantle. Treacy could very well surprise and mature. He’s only young. Sturt as well. There is lots of positives about the forward line. Just has to have that chemistry.
