Not a fan of the bloke but you’d think Wingard would be out the door of HFC this year.
Out of form (or perhaps washed up) but a handy medium-forward type we need. Would have to be on a peanuts contract for us to consider and/or if any other suitors are willing to stump up any offer/s to obtain his services, though 30yo next month.

You obviously don’t watch the turnovers or 1v1 defensive efforts or even consistency.
He should be paying the club for the next contract to stay on. That way we would get some ROI.
I acknowledged that, what I am saying is IMO, his upside outweighs the bad. He has weapons that are important to us and yes, he definitely owes us money.

My question for the club on McGovern: are you 100% confident that if you give him a new contract, he’ll present in tip top condition and do all he can to make this club better. If the answer is yes, consider a short term contract on significantly reduced money. If the answer is no, move on and get whatever scraps we can at the draft.

Mirkov is contracted for 2024, he’ll carry on unless his health condition is unsustainable to play AFL.
Ok thanks for that for some reason I thought he was out of contract at the end of this year.

Big year for him next year on all fronts. I genuinely hope he makes but I just can’t see it happening.

You can keep track on player contracts in this thread BB …

I hope we are talking to Flanders about coming to us next year. He has a spark about him. He is not quite there yet as a player but you can see he has something and he is a lot closer to delivering in 2024 than anyone not named Harley Reid in this years draft.

I think I’d we can get him I’d be happy if we use our first rounder on Caddy or Philactides. Hopefully we can get both if we trade our 2024 first or we get a first from trading TDK (although I’m leaning towards keeping him). I’m cooling on the Wizard as he is very small.

I mentioned him the other day. Hearing he wants back to Vic at this stage and I hope/expect we will enquire

I personally think (and this is from an outsider with no knowledge looking in) is that the days of "Brackets" turning up to preseason are over. He's looked in good nick for a few years now, its just a good run with injuries I reckon he needs.

We haven't got much in the way of currency.
What do you think his market value is?
A mid 2nd imo 25-30. But they may need to clear any ounce of cash they have so you just never know.

It could be something like our 2024 1st for their 2023 1st and Flander but again who really knows

Don't really rate Flanders. IMO, I'd rather target Elijah Hollands - get the brothers together.

He's wasting his time at GCS stuck in the magoo's behind Rowell, Anderson, Miller etc. Still contracted, but wouldn't be at all surprised if he requests a trade at some stage. Don't reckon Gold Coast would stand in his way either...they need list spots, and have another young gun midfielder Jake Rogers coming in this year through their academy.

Another one I'd be looking at is Dylan Stephens. Currently under performing at the Swans, but that may have something to do with them playing on a smaller ground not particularly suitable for outside runners. If TDK requests a trade to the Swans, possibly could work that as part of the deal.

Probably unlikely though as he's reportedly working through a new deal at the Swans. We could still ask the question.

Like it. Why is Harry immune to being in the ruck? Most of his marking happens around the ground anyway. Would clear the forward like for Charlie at times too.
He's forward ruck size but like a lot of other good forwards that size, such as Wright, Lynch, Cameron etc, they do not ruck him. I don't think we will be rucking him any time soon either. Think our forward ruck has to be someone else like TDK or a future draftee.

Did you think that’s predominantly been a byproduct of having Mirkov and O’Keeffe in the team? He’d be behind both of them for ruck call up. Now Mirk is out Lemmey might get more ruck opportunities.

Lemmey will be slow burn. For mine, the jury will remain out for a year or two. With many mid to long term pieces in place, I would love to see him genuinely schooled as a swingman.

Snippets up forward, and for a kid so raw, shows ruck potential. Personally, I believe he is more likely to make it as a KPD than anything else. Seems better being “led” to the ball rather than compelled to “make” the play. We finally have the luxury of multiple KPP players in our reserves, so would love him to have a bit of time back before season’s end to give our list management team more insight in to what we actually have leading in to the draft.

Any reserves watches been keeping an eye on Archie Manton? Kicked a few against the Bombers on the weekend.

Is he a late bloomer or just not up to the standard? After seeing Caminiti come in and have a positive impact I wonder how many other talks are out there being missed.

Don’t they need a stack of points this year for Academy picks?
Which is why I think them trading their first out for a future first without atleast a second this year to go with it seems a long shot. They could need half a dozen second round picks to match all three picks and then still be left with having to take the last three picks in the draft

We could give them picks 60 and 66 that equals to 1000 points which is equivalent to pick 21
