How many rookie picks we taking? Traditionally a good place to find KPDs. Hopefully we take two talls Edwards and Morris/Dawson for me.

George hasn't played a game. Ford is promising but a bit of a question mark. Don't think Harvey makes it.

Ford I can see become a permanent defensive HF/wing.

George will hopefully be able to build his fitness over the next 2-3 years to run through HF/middle 60-40 split a bit like Zurhaar.

Just 2 and 3 for WC1 and F1. We take Harley Reid and a top 2 pick next year and they can have Kerch and Curtin.

Everyone gets what they want. Including the players.

I'm sure Clarko has key backs in mind that he will be working on to bring across from other clubs (same as Hawthorn premiership teams). If we can get the upfield structure and pressure right then our defense will look 10x better with less inside 50s against and less effective inside 50s. A lot of that has to do with endurance and defensive running which we would be addressing massively with Stephens, Fisher, McKercher, Wilson and Hardeman.

There is a lot of faith being shown (for obvious good reason) in the current administration. I just wonder how many years of neglecting to draft KPPs it will take before frustration starts building in the supporter base.

For all the grief Rawlings caught with the CCJ trade it was Noble that made the push for building fair trade partners.

So Noble didn't have boundaries in regard to trading and drafting yet Clarko does?

I would use our F1 to acquire pick 7 and then pick O'Sullivan.
Trade 17 and 18 to Sydney if Leake is still there.
End up with Colby, Dursma, O'Sullivan, Leake, and a ruck at 15

We've gone through an entire regime change since Noble. All of our standards have shifted. Noble for example didn't have a Todd Viney.

Clarko met with Curtin so we could take him BUT we’re expected to take McKercher and Duursma BUT Clarko really likes Curtin BUT Clarko doesn‘t have the final say on who we draft BUT some people say Curtin could be like Pavlich BUT some other people say he picks his moments BUT his manager says he’s generational like Jeremy McGovern BUT other people say he won’t be a KPD or a mid BUT he could be a third tall BUT a top 10 pick is too much for a third tall BUT Hawthorn flew him to Melbourne BUT North need him the most.

This is the AFL (W.C) media machine making the most of the situation to make the outcome (whatever it is) to seem as glowing and fortuitous for the Eagles as possible.

I don't think there's a way to get Curtin AND McKerch/Duursma without the F1. But you could get someone else's F1 back.

F1 for #8 & GWS F1?

~1-4 2024 for #8 & ~6-10?

There's a real genuine big balls play here.

Trade #17 & #18 for #12

Love it how we're told by the club we need talls, forward pressure and outside run, so the expectation has become that with five picks in the first round we'll get... outside run and maybe a ruck.

It's a shocker but at least we will have addressed outside run. First with Stephens, then Fisher, then McKercher, then Wilson, then Hardeman.

We may be looking at all these players, we aren't going to draft them all.

I think clubs in the bottom four should be banned from trading F1s but if GWS's F1 came back (perhaps with another pick swap in their favour this year) it might be palatable.

Offer an opinion. Challenge. Ultimately let them do their job.
