Ins: Kemp, Cincotta, Binns
Outs: Weitering, Ed, Holland

Weitering is a shell of the player from 2 years ago. Trails his opponent by 5 to 10 metres all day, cannot mark or kick to a target, cannot jump anymore.
Give Kemp a go, at least he might provide a contest.

Dow won't be here next year, so there is no point playing him (his trade value still won't change much)

Want Kemp back in ASAP
That is only because our stubborn coach has his head in the sand, any player that is getting 30-40 touches every week for 12 months deserves a month at senior level.

Our under performing mid field has been average at best all season.

Let me make one reason for Dow to play:

He actually gives us a chance to come out the FRONT of a stoppage. Our backwards handballing by our slow possesion conscious mids simply has to end. Handball back. Snap over shoulder/long bomb to outnumber. Rinse repeat.

Dow gives a small hope that someone could burst out the front and disrupt players around him.
Just like the Brisbane game last year, Dow will play and get absolutely smashed by the fans for having ‘0 impact’ when Voss gives him just 1/4 of the CBAs of the other midfielders.
Give him 20+ CBAs please for the love of god. He’s an extractor.

Yep, even if Voss were to pick him, that game tells you he wont give him a chance to succeed

Id be shocked if he is played at all and id be even more shocked if he is played as a full time midfield roation if he gets a game

No point? What about selection integrity? Giving ourselves a chance to win games ? Changing something…anything ? Is Ed Curnow playing next year? Using your logic why is he being selected?

Clearly the way to build a positive culture is to have young listed players who have been redlined and won't play, regardless of form.

It sends such a powerful and important message imo: "if the coach doesn't like you, your career is screwed".

I think Dow will play this week...first time I can recall Voss in a presser not dismissing the idea

Ive just seen voss looking for Dow's Magnet 🤣

He’s run out of ideas and going back to the drawing board with the theme being defence and system. I think his messaging has been all over the shop to be honest. Hopefully we get it right this time and stop shooting ourselves in the foot.

It stinks of old school boys club, but here if you're in you're in and if the head honchos don't like you, no matter what you do, then you're out.

I can't believe that after all this time our club is like this, even with Cook in to run it, we are an absolutely joke.

Our match selection committee needs a good hard look at themselves. It's not working. It's pathetic.

Have given up on Hewett for the year. The 6m per possesion and slow as treacle running we get out of him isn’t worth it. We have found out why Sydney didn’t care about losing him.
But surely we need to ask what has happened to him. He was fantastic for us at first. He has been Carltonised. What happened?
Line coach? Game plan?
Off field issues?
It has happened to more than a few.
It is a huge issue for us.
Failure to thrive is on our club.
Let's face it and fix it ffs!

This is what worries me re MC giving in and playing Dow.

It’s got to the point that they could fear that if he does play and tears it up they will be accused of being stubborn dimwits for not playing him earlier.

It’s a strange place the CFC.

I think we'll win this game, mostly because they are missing most of their KPPs...so our usual gameplan of bomb it to talls will ironically probably be somewhat effective.

The optimist in me says: Dees missing Clarry Oliver, Bombers who suck and Hawthorn who are rebuilding mean we have 4 winnable games coming up to get our season back on track.

The realist in me says we could go 0-4 given the way we're playing atm.

Kemp - MMcg has given us nothing since he has come back. We are missing the drive and pace he gave us last year.
Binns - Hollands. Hollands GPS has dropped off from the start of the year. Binns is harder and quicker across the ground.
Dow - Motlop/Durdin they are giving us little up forward and we need to rotate mids more through the middle to keep our slow ones fresher.
TDK - JSOS. Don't think we need to do it for this week as Swans are small but we will need TDK against the Demons. Game was lost when they kicked 3 goals in the first while JSOS was in the ruck.

We should care about improving moving forward. If we're focused on ass-covering we'll never improve.

If they bring in Dow and then force him to play an obscure role like HFF with no CBA attendances that'll be worse than not playing him at all.

Dow just had 40 touches, 10 clearances, 10 inside 50’s in the reserves.

If there is any essence of selection integrity he must come in.

Our midfield has been absolutely pitiful and the majority should be dropped
But has he hit some remarkable KPI that would invoke his right to play in the AFL??

Would love someone in the media to ask that question.. with so many out of form mids and one tearing it up in the 2's who's physically ready for AFL and not a kid... is not given one more look in.

Yeah the JSOS second ruck has to stop - i dont see a spot for JSOS in the side outside of that role either.

TDK has to play - he will provide better contests in the ruck and we arent getting anything out of JSOS when he isnt in the ruck so even if TDK has a stinker, we are getting more out of the ruck from him.

And agree, Hollands looks to be screaming out for a rest. Try binns on a win. Hollands hasnt been getting much of the ball and doest do much with it. His defensive running is great but outside of that isnt offering much.

FWIW - Dow told an acquaintance last week that he doesn't expect to get a game in the snrs at all this year and is purely doing what he can in the VFL to attract interest from rival clubs.

*Edit - this is not hush-hush either - was discussed as if it was common knowledge within the club/playing group.

I was only wondering yesterday if he, walsh and kennedy have a chuckle each week about him not getting a game (pretty sure they live together)

'how'd you go dowy?'
'40 and best on'
'geez, dominating. too bad you wont get picked next week'

and they all laugh about it 🤣

That is ridiculous and we should have a decent explanation for it.

Newman - young - Saad
Kemp - Wieters - Doc

Cottrell - Cerra - Acres
Pitto - Cripps - Kennedy

Owies - Charlie- Walsh
Boyd - H - TKD

Dow - Hewitt - Binns - Motts
Sub Cinc

Out - Gov JSOS - Durds - Hollands - Ed
In - Dow - TKD - Kemp - Binns - Cinc

Make a statement with some seniors players going out. Gov, JSOS and Ed were all very very poor.

Ollie needs a rest, isn’t physical enough with his frame against the bigger bodies…give Binns a run

Durds looked like he pulled up sore right at the end but honestly should be dropped as should Motts as they are non existent in the forward line

Reward some good solid VFL form with Kemp and Dow and Cinc. TDK obvious upgrade on JSOS as second ruck and third tall

If anything dropping 5 and rewarding 5 at least gives us some selection integrity

Play Boyd forward he’s kicking is an asset

If we win against the Swans with Charlie kicking 8 and get very little from the other forwards then, just like the West Coast game, we have again wasted an opportunity to practise/address our inside 50 issues.

With West Coast we had our small/med kick only 4 goals. The same round them Demons had their smalls/med kick 12! Demons method/system is sustainable ours is not. Do we really think Charlie is going to kick 9 againist the best teams. I would actually prefer we train without them in the set up to force us to lead and look.

Agree, i think we should get the win but ill be more interested with how we play more than anything.
