Thought this was Dow's best half of football that I can recall. Adequate replacement, but is he a starting mid? Preobably is for the next 3-4 weeks given Cerra and Walsh out.

I've got a bit of time for joey Montagna. He has been saying for a while that Collingwood go against the pattern of recent premiership teams by getting a huge amount of scores from defence.

Today (and to an extent last week) showed that manic pressure on their defence dries that up. They're definitely gettable. Wouldn't mind playing them in a final.

If you match their workrate they dont have their 1 wood of overlap run grandma goals nor the talls to move the ball forward.

What they do well is run for 4 quarters so they can hang in games with hard running back and then finally get their grandma goal game going late when the opposition tires, match them for 4 terms in this and they cant win imo.

Curnow v Moore was just about worth the cost of admission by itself. A real old fashioned ring-a-ding-ding battle between two key position players. It really took me back. Well done to Charlie for taking him to the cleaners.
