If there’s a ground that tests hammy’s it’s Metricon.

Soft & Spongey!

Like they’re taking their time with a couple of high performance vehicles.
Hasn’t been a lot of rain up here & was actually pretty hot today, weather looks good all week, it should be in perfect condition

100% agree re: Harry. Whilst we’ve still been winning, there’s been numerous occasions where I’ve thought “I’d love Harry in the team right now”. Namely the ones you’ve already pointed out - the double teaming on Charlie and those long kicks to the wing with no tall presence there.

From the sound of Lloyd’s interview on SEN this morning, he will go close this week.
I thought that plenty of times against Melbourne. With such a tough contested (and wet) game there wasn't a lot of chances to link up with overlap handball, and a lot of kicks just going for territory. Harry is as good as anyone between the arcs, let alone what he does to make a tall defender accountable and thus free up C Curnow.

Finals will be similar level of pressure. We only just beat Melbourne by a Marchbank fingernail, and Harry could make a difference in other close encounters.

Also, I'm keen to see him in a team that's playing confidently. Wouldn't be surprised at all if the yips ease off now that everything isn't up to him. Just a chance he kicks 6.0 in his first game back.

If that’s the case I would still drop pitto and ask Harry to chop out but I think if TDK rucks permanently around the ground and Harry/Cripps/Curnow ruck forward then we will be okay. TDK does need to start building up to rucking all game. He won’t get used to the physicality and endurance unless it starts happening. His next off season is going to be huge.
No chance in hell McKay comes in and plays ruck for the first time first game back from a knee injury. It might be a potential long term solution but no chance this year. Does he ever do ruckwork at training?

For the remainder of this year, I want tdk rucking with Jack giving him a chop out. He was brilliant the month before his injury. I'll understand though if Pitt plays this week, witts has monstered us so they may want 2 real rucks to try and grind him down.

Personally I’d do the following:

Ins: Jack and Harry in for Doc and Pitto.

Mid rotation: Cripps, Dow, Hewitt, Fog, Cunners and Fish.

TDK sole ruck, Jsos backs him up and Harry takes the inside 50 ruck contests.

And then next week if you have Doc, Cez, Walsh and Gov available…. Don’t envy the coaching staff. I’d imagine Mots, Cotters, Fog, Marchy and Hollands would the most likely candidates, great problems to have.

Prefer TDK and JSOS as a chop out. Pitto is a tap and not really much else. Questionable kick, doesn’t score…

While JSOS doesn’t win the tap, he’s got great work around the feet - he goes from ruck to rover in a split second. And his ability to score and defend were a key factor in us flogging teams til he got injured.
Doesn't mark. Is basically a liability after the centre bounce.

Yeah I live in Byron - weathers been amazing :)

It’s just that soft grass surface - when I came up last year, warmth aside players looked to sink as the ran.
Yep, warm and dry in Qld at the moment.

Also, that ground plays way better during the day than at night. Dews up really quickly due to the amount of water around it, and the ball is slippery as.

So long as it is not too hot, should be great conditions.

The H talk in the media is silly on the face of it. Of course we're better with him in the side. But it's also silly because much of it seems to assume that our team balance is some precious, fragile thing and one false move could see it ruined.

But that's just not so. We've copped injury after injury, lost a number of players with unique (to our list anyway) abilities, but we've kept on performing and kept on winning. Our forward line has been taller and smaller, our back line has had more and less run, we've had games with two rucks and games with none, and we've continued to get the job done.

That's not to say that team selection is irrelevant. We want our best players playing, and in a tight game the individuals on the field can make the difference. But if we've shown one thing in the last couple of months it's that we don't need to worry about one selection here or there upsetting the balance of our team. We'll cope.

Buckley thinks if Harry plays it’s at the expense of one of the ruckmen.

I find some of the H analysis truly staggering.
Since we turned the corner, with H we kicked 18, 17, 14 and 18 goals. Without H, we've kicked 21 (WC), 14, 10 and 9 goals.
No doubt we've played harder teams in the last 4 weeks, but they don't reckon H would add to our goals, and winning margins?

Points against in that 8 game run: 61, 52, 45, 72, 69, 76, 54, 56

It’s a no brainer. If H was playing Charlie doesn’t get two good defenders on him. And one on one Charlie is near impossible to stop.

Pitto out for JSOS makes sense to me, and I don't know who comes out for Harry. Obviously we'll make room for him and there were games Big H would have been a huge help recently (especially the Saints game).

I do know that whoever comes out will be very stiff to get dropped, however it's a good problem to have, especially at this point in the season.

The one opportunity I was looking forward to watching blues live and I have another commitment that afternoon.

I’ve been free all saturdays so far this year.

There's some pretty bad colds going around at the moment, likewise with gastro 😉 Just hope you don't get your head on TV haha

There’s a bit of that going around, have been looking forward to it for ages & only realized a couple days ago that I can’t go 😢
