Day is frustrating at the moment but I think there are other priorities.

Day is a weird one. Every week I think he has been close to our best player and then his supercoach score is in the 70s or 80s.

It's not just me either. On the weekend, Day got a hard tag which wouldn't happen if you were struggling for impact. The week before he was listed as our 2nd best player on the AFL site and all media outlets. He had 29 touches, 5 clearances, 3 tackles, etc and scored 80 odd points. Similar the week before with 26 touches and 84 SC.

I think it is his ball use, with lower kicking efficiency and more clangers but it has felt harsh given the difficulty of ball acquisition he has managed and generally looking pretty classy.

Anyway, his ball use is typically one of his better features so if he cleans it up, am confident his scores will pick up, acknowledging that good use is harder as an inside mid than as a flanker/winger.

Yeah he’s known as a great kick since his draft years.

Struggling to follow this - you are not banking anything, they are the same price.

The price they started the season at is based on last years scores while their current price is based on this year. I would have thought that the recent data is the most relevant?

Not saying don’t do it as Ziebell may indeed be overs and Laird undres, just challenging the thought process.
Ziebell for me was bought in as a cash cow. I never expected him to stay in my side. If Ziebell slows down, then that cash made starts dwindling.

I get what you're saying though. You can look at it from either way. But price from the beginning is usually a good indication of what price they'll end up as. Quick maths on Ziegulls last run home as the Chip King would probably price him at around 450k.

My thought process is that a 2 year older Ziebell will most likely slow down a bit sooner than R18.

Wasn't Hall taking half his chips last time he pigged out in 2021? What's to say he won't keep it up this year?
Age my newbie friend. Big difference how you feel at 30 compared to 32. Saw him this weekend stuck on the bench for ages.

He's a shite footballer to me, and this scoring output is purely an anomaly of this games scoring system..

Started the game on fire. 30DT by quarter time IIRC. I just don't see his price and scoring to be sustainable. Whereas Rory seems to be getting back into gear.

That’s one way of looking at it.

The other is that you’re shorting the odds of the football spending a lot of time in norths defence for the rest of the season.

How many upgrades you need to do?

New coach may play him elsewhere. If he was 500k or had a better bye, I probably wouldn't consider this as highly. But at 600k, the opportunity is now or never.

Really I should be getting Bont. However Laird I hope will be just as good for 100k less.

Team pre trades with 30k itb.

15 trades remaining.

Sheezel I don't believe will need to be upgraded, neither will Ashcroft. Once Pickett and Stocker have been upgraded, I would argue that I only have Humpa left to get off the field.

Surprised at the number of people holding Oliver on here (strong majority).

Particularly given the coach saying they would take a "very cautious" approach and that Dees fans would "need to be patient".
With a hammy surely is a classic 21 dayer, which means he won't be back until after the bye.

I’m struggling to see the sense in trading Ziebell as well. Any hint of role change fair enough but he’s fine as your D6 come seasons end.

It’s calculated. I’m ok for round 12 and obviously round 13. He was missing round 14 anyway. If he misses round 15 it will be a disaster for those holding though. It’s not ideal but I’ve only recently got him in.

Were you around in the days of GAJ and 20 trades for the season? Some people are wired to not trade out the best player in the game, who is in their prime, with a 1-2 week injury.

Had he not played out the game, there may have been more cause for concern. Seems like a Stewart injury all over again to me.

With less than 15 trades remaining for most people after this weeks trades. If you trade Oliver out, there won't be many opportunities to swap him straight back in. One trade to get him out, another 2 to bring him in? No thanks.

Have been forced to let Clarry run free due to the coaches being absolute knob jockeys and dropping rookies en masse, no longer allowing me to rely on them through loops etc.

Allows me to get Sicily and Merrett with $100k in the bank to hopefully get him back come the end of byes, but who knows! I will have the $$ easily through downgrades across the byes, but will have to see how the trade situation in fairing.

Le sigh. Until next time my Pink, Sweaty Pig. :'(

For me, it's more of avoiding a sideways trade, he finished the game, he was apparently training, so I don't see how it can a four week injury.

Is Day to Merrett really that sideways?
The 110k spent to get him there is. Day is at worst a D6/M8. You still have 3 rookies capable of spitting out a sub 50 score still on the field. I would focus on cashing in Davey and Cincotta to get an upgrade happening.

I'd normally say it's a waste buy you are almost in a good enough position to take the risk and trade Ziebell out.

I'm locked in:

-Ratugolea to McAndrew
-Wilmot to Stewart

I'm holding Oliver
McAndrew is just a cash grab, he's my RUCK/FWD swingman, I don't really care if plays much. Ratugolea doesn't have much cash left to make.
Wilmot has another $20k to make, but Stewart in now makes sense and helps me to cover the loss of Oliver.

Hopefully a double downgrade next week, to build the bank up for a round 13 upgrade.
