Not sure if I'd burn a boost to trade OUT a guaranteed top-five defender who isn't injured.

Could definitely make an argument for the other two moves, but Dawson for Young is a terrible trade based off one week of form, IMO.
Yeah I agree it seems ridiculous, only would do it to free up the cap space.

Jelly > Cogs
Fyfe > Sheezel

Thinking of using a boost too. I currently have to play one of Greene, Comben or Cincinnati as F6. Thinking of trading Greene to The poo or the ped so and let the other two slow burn on the bench. Greene will rarely get a 50 the way our fwd line sucks donkey schlong

Sorry, wasn't meaning to sound harsh, just feel like you should hold onto your boost if you can in that scenario. Dawson is a nice safe pick that you'll end up wanting back in your team at some point.

That doesn’t even make sense. It’s Sicily’s score vs Laird’s score. What line a player is sitting on is totally irrelevant other than the optics. Best 22 scores.

My mids were too stacked compared to my backline. I get Sicily and Daicos out of Laird so my backline is way stronger. $82k leftover to use next week to get expensive rookies in like Phillipou, Pedlar, etc.

In his favour Carlton have a stronger midfield than Adelaide. But he needs to improve fast or he's gone.
I would prefer if he goes 90-95 this week, to make people think twice about trading him out
BTW - he's gone for me

Agreed, Freo were playing the worst forward line in the comp headed up by Zane Cordy and Anthony Caminiti and Adelaide were playing in 40c heat. Freo's defenders wont take 4000 marks every week, hold Dawson.

If it was Stewart to Young, could understand and even thinking of doing that myself...

If got an inj eg Stewart .

I was referring to this comment: Would like to give Laird one more chance but my backline was too weak with Clark at D2 and Jones at D3.

Laird gets Sicily and Clark > Daicos

Backline is then Sicily, Doc, Daicos, Jones, Ginbey, McKenna (Willmont, Cowan)

Don't want to laugh, PM if you want, It's a Brilliant opportunity to try something Different that no one else has. Only way is up from here, it's pretty liberating to be in your position.

Seee how tonight team sheets look .

I got some plans.

Need to see who's playing.
This weekend aswell.

Stewart Def first traded

Then see how the cookie crumbles

Don't worry about freeing up cap space just use what you in the hand in that week as you don't know what next week will bring.
You asked me about Cunners, there's $400 if he doesn't perform this week you've got to do rookie corrections or possibly trade cunners and jones and get gulden and Mckenna or whoever else looks good. Work with the cards you've been dealt

Everyone trading in Freo defenders off 1 round of Saints playing no half decent forwards will provide quality melts over the next couple of weeks. They didn't even win the game FFS.

Who is everyone?

The question I've asked myself is this:

Liam Jones is a cash cow whose BE is now 78. How realistic is it that he'll produce enough cash in the next few weeks to be worth my while?

While its technically possible he produces a few great scores, if he isn't too injured, I've come to the conclusion that its not all that likely.

And the spare cash I get from trading to McKenna this week is a bonus that helps fix next week's rookie carnage.

That's my thinking with that trade too, plus if Jones plays this week it will be against St Kilda and I don't want to be hoping he plays well against us.

So far Jones to McKenna is my only trade locked in but I could do more if any of my rookies get dropped, Chesser and Constable the two most likely.

It's highly reactionary of me but downgrading Dawson to Young just about sponsors a Cunnington to Coniglio upgrade.

In other words, I just wish that was what I started with. I know it's one game but as you say Young is an excellent choice. Hopefully Dawson does prove he's value as a SP at Docherty/Sicily levels.
I started with Dawson. I have no concerns there.
