I have reverted into a total noob.
Bruhn to Chandler
Hopper to Callaghan
Jones to daicos.
And I've already done the trades

Have a few ideas for this week

Option 1
Stewart > Daicos
Fyfe > McKenna
Means I field one of Davey, Long or Greene forward this week. Leaves $395,700 in kitty.

Option 2
Stewart > McKenna
Fyfe > Coniglio
Means I field Wilmot down back. Leaves $340,500.

Option 3
Stewart > Daicos
Fyfe > Coniglio
Strengthens up both lines, Wilmot still on field down back but leaves only $5,500 in the bank.

Eyeing off missed rookies next week if they back it up (Chandler, Pedlar, McKenna if not taken this week are the early candidates).

Umm you can't trade Stewart anymore...

Hmmmm
Feels maybe hasty and leaves my forwardline looking like this which is a bit different

But leaves me in a good position to do 3 rookie corrections next week plus a def rookie up to Bowes the week after

Thoughts?
i pondered the exact same and just did the jones to mckenna trade, with the cunners/jhf one marked for next week if this week repeats (i have bowes)

What am I missing why is LDU only in 4% of teams? his second half of last season and round 1 wasn't enough?

bizarre
I rate him but skipped.

Green around same price, I took other SP Bont, Laird, Oliver.

Thought one around that price was enough, don’t want to take too many risks for mid keepers or you fall behind.

Ive already used 2 trades this week being

Stewart to Ridley
Bruhn to Sheezel (thankgod)

Just seeing if its worth Jones to Mckenna this week to give me more trades next week

Dont really have any other issues but may need to get chandler, callaghan and Mckenna next week

Not sure if I should boost this week or just risk missing one good rookie...

I'd personally save the boost and just make Jones> Mckenna my first trade next week, even if it means I might miss a rookie. Prices won't change and gives you another look at everyone, and you'll get to boost like a madman when you start upgrading which should have more value than using it now.

Going into this week, I had full intentions on holding trades and being cautious with an eye to rookie upgrades next week. But as you know, each new round throws something at you that derails set plans. For this reason I’ve gone early on some rookie targets whom I’m confident will make good money and have solid JS In Callaghan & Phillipou with an eye to further rookie upgrades (Chandler) next week.

In the event something goes wrong with current roster (still have Fyfe to potentially deal with) I can deal with it knowing I’ve already secured who I want.

LiamJones>Bowes
Bytel>Callaghan
Flanders>Phillipou

Looking at picking up Hunter Clark in my draft league. Like his role and the upside, he butchered it completely last game.

Defenders i am considering dropping for him are Burton or Day. Thoughts?

Would wait and see if he still has the same role with Seb Ross back in the side.

I am more confident in Flanders than I am Fyfe... Definitely agree regarding Callaghan and Phillipou looking the goods.

Yeah it was a tossup between Fyfe/Flanders. Neds role isn’t ideal with Touk back in probably having an effect. Too early to tell. He could easily rebound which would sting a little but Fyfe at home/record v North in addition to Freos draw over the coming weeks just swayed me. I’m hoping the champ can bounce back after copping it hard in Perth media this week.

Option 2....

D: Stewart, Ridley, Clark, McKenna, Ginbey, Constable (Wilmot, Chesser)
M: Bont, Kelly, Bazlenka, Green, Hopper, Flanders, Ashcroft, MacKenzie (Goater, Baker, Davey)
R: Darcy, Marshall (Esava)
F: Dunkley, Taranto, Rozee, Gulden, Bruhn (ffs), Sheezel (Greene, Madden)
+ 96k banked

Trade 1 is pretty simple, Stewart out for Young. Outside chance I decide to go unique with J. McGovern or E. Richards

Trade 2 is where I'm not sure about. Would love some advice/suggestions/feedback.

Normally prefer to wait until next week, but think I'll have three trades to make then (Bruhn definitely, Hopper probably, then Greene or Chesser or both to the rookie I miss, or maybe Bailey Smith to LDU or something if he keeps butchering it).

So reckon I've got to trigger Flanders (as the most likely mid pricer to be poo, bar Clark who can hold on an extra week given Bowes) out this week to avoid being forced to hold an undesirable next week. Want to go him to the most likely mid pricer to not make me regret going a week early - options are

Flanders to Callaghan: Enter next week with 205k

Flanders to JHF or Setterfield: Enter next week with 101k

Flanders to Worpel: Enter next week with 140k

Flanders to Ziebell: Enter next week with 93k

I'm leaning going JHF - I think he's quality & going him means I can fire Bruhn for a mid next week if needed.

Not sure I'll burn trade 3. Thinking to use Goater as emg hoping to use his score (gone him over baker for it given same time match) into Davey (yuck), but could go Goater into the defence, Constable into the mids, then loop Oskar Baker into Constable. If I go Goater loophole and he spuds it, Kelly trade options are

  • Coniglio (and then go Bruhn to a mid next week)
  • Worpel or Setterfield (and have a 330-370k war chest for next week)

Either Ned to Callaghan or JHF I think

Rationale for Young over say Daicos or Rioli? Purely looking for a POD?

Don't love Rioli with Short back there. And love Daicos, but I didn't get the benefit of his 130 odd, and the tag risk has me spooked. Always loved Young as a footballer even from his junior days - he defends well, he runs off, great aerialist and lovely kick. It's a great combination for a solid scorer. So backing that in. Also figure I can go Hunter Clark to Daicos next week if it looks like he's just someone you need to have.

That said, I'm really, really considering Jeremy McGovern in place of Young. Little bit of extra cash, averaged 100 last year before the sub games, finally had a solid pre season and is in good physical shape (for once), and the ball is going to be down there A LOT. But is a risk.
