Had this locked from Sunday night:

Bruhn -> Naicos
Macrae -> LDU
Chester -> Chandler

Only leaves me with $9.4K though.

Am I mad to fade one of Naicos or LDU temporarily to get in Setterfield/Worpel for the cash gen?

Currently have:
  • Bowes, Ginbey, McKenna, Constable, Wilmot, Cowan
  • Hopper, Ashcroft, McKenzie, Poo, Baker, Davey, Chesser
  • Sheezel, Greene, Caminiti

Bruhn, Macrae and Chesser are def gone, so could do:

Bruhn -> Naicos
Macrae -> Setters
Chesser -> Chandler ($218k)

Or

Bruhn -> Ziegull
Macrae -> Setters
Chesser -> Worpel ($179k)

Or

Bruhn -> LDU
Macrae -> Setters
Chesser -> Chandler ($163k)

Or am I overthinking things, and have plenty of cash gen?

Stick with the original.
Dont sacrifice a keeper for cash gen that will only be used to bring in that keeper

Don't trade Docherty.
Yeah I know……
Every season I need a little love slap to knock some sense into me!

slap gtfo GIF

I remember being ridiculed for having Ziebs in my team. I chickened out, now look at every kent wanting to trade him in ha.
Locked him in already?

Don’t be shy now!

Just short of going-
Young-Daicos
Fyfe-Setterfield
Flanders-Ziebell

Thinking of trading Doc instead.
Young was on fire for his first 5 quarters this season and looked lost after he got poleaxed. Tempted to back him in.
Or I just miss Ziebell and get in Chandler?
Maybe I should give up on Daicos for now……
Darcy-Cameron
Fyfe-Setterfield
Flanders-Zeibell.

I'm in the same boat, to trade Dale or not? I'm torn as I hate giving up on premos this early.

I have Hunter Clark, who I am on the fence with too. His numbers were better this week, and with Steele out could come good?

If I hold Clark and trade Dale, I can go Dale/Bruhn/Flanders to Daicos/Chandler/Gulden or C Darcy. Leaves me with $52/62k in the kitty.

If I hold Dale and trade Clark, I can go Clark/Bruhn/Flanders to Daicos/McKenna/Chandler, which leaves me with $110k.

Any other wise thoughts?

C Darcy being Darcy Cameron? At a quick glance you have enough rooks to make some moo. In the 2 scenarios presented, the trade that includes Dale means you drop one "premo" but end up getting two (or near enough to it if there's any conjecture).
The other trade you're getting rid of 3 speculatives that haven't fired yet but bringing in McKenna and Chandler who could cost you 4 trades if/when you need to upgrade them.
Tough choices.
With your setup I'd probably grab Daicos and Cameron (or Gulden, but with Marshall and English ruck cover with Cameron would be sensible)
Clark will need to go at some point though

FWIW, I'm doing the middle option, but prioritising Darcy Cameron over Ziebell, and giving myself enough money to get Bowes for my worst rookie the week after. I'm usually a GnR player but want to change it up this year though, so I may not be the best piece of advice. My argument is that there are a lot of kent rookies out there, who may or may not be burnt by the vest at inopportune times, and going MPM heavy and with two games to weed out who the best are to get on, there is hopefully an inffllux of both cash and points and points/cash (value - stretching your $10M further).

By R4, I'll have 11 keepers, 7 midpricers, 4 rookies on field (McKenna, Ginbey, Ashcroft, Sheezel)

Scoopsroy always did have a nose for the story, without wanting to become the story.
He's going OK (and seems to be cutting Dale's lunch a touch,.but haven't watched closely tbh) 👍

He only scored 70 this week, but the whole team was a shambles. I'm not worried.

He has a licence to hunt the easy possession and will rack up inside 50s.

Also, he stands out which helps when watching his games.

The Ranga at D3 is a strength of my side I feel

Traded McCluggage for Setters and Jones for Daicos.

For my third trade, I’ve brought in Matt Kennedy as a super duper POD as a Macrae replacement, it’s a big risk but could pay off nicely. He was everywhere last Thursday night and just about had two hundreds to start the season with a 96 and a 110. Was everywhere at the stoppages and got a lot of opportunities. With Walsh coming back it may be more risky. He’s at least in top 3 mids at the Blues behind Cripps and Hewett currently especially with Cerra being thrown around the ground.

Leaves $100k for inevitable rookie fixes next week

Skipping LDU is a big move but I felt my team would become a bit too common and samey. It’s a lot more fun playing a bit different to the rest and if you’re moves pay off, you’re laughing.

I'm lucky in that I started Cameron and Bowes, so don't need to make those calls.

Doing the original gives me 13 keepers (Doch, Rioli, Daicos, Oliver, Bont, LDU, Green, Marshall, Witts, Dunk, Rozee, Taranto, Cameron), 2 midpricers (Hopper, Bowes) and 7 rookies on field (Ginbey, McKenna, Ashcroft, McKenzie, Poo, Sheezel, Chandler).

Doing the middle option give me 11 keepers, 5 midpricers and 6 rookies on field (Ginbey, McKenna, Constable, Ashcroft, McKenzie, Sheezel).

It's probably swings and roundabouts in the end if the midpricers keep up this scoring?

Maybe I should give up on Daicos for now……
Darcy-Cameron
Fyfe-Setterfield
Flanders-Zeibell.
Macrae-Setters
Fyfe-Daicos (DPP)
Darcy-Cameron
Means I keep Flanders for now, but 290k in the kitty to grab Bowes or someone next week…
Also means I lose every DPP link for now..

Mid Price Madness!!!

Like the thinking, but huge risk for mine, and not much value? If he was in the $400k range I get it, but he tonned in less than half the games he played last year (8/17), and threw out 5 scores under 90 (2 in the 50s). Feel like Titch is a lot more certain in his role, and is slightly cheaper to boot? Still reasonably PODish at 10%.

Ok so the only way I can get Ziebell in is by doing the following trades -

Flanders > Chandler
Darcy > Cameron
McKenzie > Ziebell via Comben

Is the only way I can think of getting Ziebell in.

Thoughts?

Dont mind it. Leaves chandler on field but you get a points upgrade and another potential keeper who will get valuable DPP.

Trade 1 - Steele > Setterfield
Trade 2 - Chesser dpp > Ziebell
Trade 3 - Greene > Chandler
A.Davey > Worpel

Prefer Greene over A.Davey, rock solid JS (mature age - good scores in VFL last year) and will have a spike game or two.

Also thinking Worpels advantage over Chandler is not that the cash gen will be as much (maybe 50k short) but the points per week playing Worpel over Chandler/Pedlar could be 50 points per week. He has nearly tonned up twice in teams that got flogged, the premier aged midfielder in the team this year and may have his major back with Tommy Mitchell traded.

Cheers mate.

Yeah Chandler at F6 is the only sticking point but I see him as a better option than Flanders and he is half the price.

Had enough of Darcy and Ziebell is a must have imo.
