I have, you just seem particularly frustrated because someone posted what they heard is/may be happening. Which is you know what this thread is for.

Sometimes it's real sometimes it bogus it's all a bit of fun.

I made one post, that’s it and it was about the news Melbourne are saying no which contradicts his post. That’s it.

Then 1990 unnecessarily tagged me in and it went on from there. Take it up with him.

Dogs trade for Pick 4 could have been known long way out.
Doedee compo probably known for ages.
2 seconds were known.
McKay compo was probably obvious for most of the competition.

Given you werent actually 100% guaranteed north got 3 for Mckay as compo..

$1 million in his first season then $800k in the years after? For a KPD? What the ****!

I rate Petty but he's not the best KPD in the league. Those numbers are for the best. Would be a huge overspend.

Reporting has been it would be 800k average over the life of the deal.
So possibly over 1 million in first year, then average 650k for the rest.

If only Cameron could of had the decency to do that in 2016 when we were facing a contract extension for Jenkins - a player who kicked 62 that year and KPFs (even flawed ones) holding more value. Mind you, Jenkins kicked 4 in that preliminary and Atkins dominated. I'm not willing to place too much value in that performance seeing even our more noted downhill skiiers lit up that night - and we lost the following week.

Mind you - I hold my doubts that we lost Cameron due to money. I think he just got sick of playing second fiddle to Betts and potentially saw the writing on the wall with the direction Adelaide was heading.

So Gold Coast went into the trade period with 4335 points and have ended up with 4131 points plus two future first round picks

Pretty good dealing by them.

This is the real value of academy and father/son picks. They allow a non-fungible asset (picks) to become fungible. It allows teams like CG to treat multiple crap picks as a good pick based on points.

Clearly the AFL need to review the points system because clubs are too keen to do these types of trades so top end picks are clearly undervalued by the points system.

I think missing out on Brennan Cox might have upset our plans somewhat and we are over reacting. Why give Butts a 4 year extension then pay $800k a year to bring in a guy that plays the same position?

Missing out on Cox, I think has shown us to either seize the moment now, or dont come Monday.

There was a season of football between that four year extension and now...

And that year saw Butts offensive output drop alongside his shutdown game remaining medicore. This would certainly be the time for the club to panic, especially with Murray out for most of the year.

Butts is decent. If we got to the situation where he found himself outside the 22, can always request a trade while contracted.
