Thank goodness its not Saturday as I wouldn't be able to watch. 60/40 in our favour. I hope Cripp's ribs improve as he didn't play a great match and yes he did kick a fabulous goal but not his usual dominance self.
The way he reacted to a bump from Heeney don't think his ribs will be right till next year

Not sure what I think here - Collingwood Carlton gf would be off the hook. But if we both make it, not sure my nerves can take it.

I haven’t read your board much but am interested in the unconventional idea that you might be better without McKay. As a Collingwood supporter, I’ve had decades of forwards who can’t kick straight. It’s soul destroying for the team. Also Curnow (perhaps like Gawn with Grundy) seems to relish being the sole power forward. Your second half season resurgence may support this. I feel like Martin is a bigger loss than McKay any day.

There’s no world we are better off without McKay. Even with the yips he can stay outside 50 and hit up lead better than anyone. Not the time of year for him to be working through confidence issues though.

The concern is the double teaming that happens to Charlie when Harry isn’t there. Reduces Charlie to a “bring it to ground” threat.

No one seems to know...would be a big concern if he didn't, in that he's either still not fit enough to play next week or even if he does, he's playing off a long break with zero lead up games.

Warm night, fast track. I can't see us playing anyone who didn't at least play in that practice match.

Neither Jack or Kennedy were in the 26 for the Swans game, so it it is highly unlikely we would bring in both.

Melbourne had McDonald, Smith, Fritsch and Van Rooyen up forward, which probably allowed for match-ups for all our taller backs - but Van Rooyen is out. It might depend what they do, but I think we lacked run late in that Swans game.

Kemp or Gov forward enables us to stay mobile and quicker. I reckon 2 of the 4 emergencies, or Boyd (match-up pending Dees balance) come in. Boyd was suspended, not injured like the others, so he is fully fit. Other option is Doc back to accommodate Hollands.

xDQ82x gets info and said Jack plays, although I find it strange that team info would be relevant on a Saturday morning. He could be sub with a view to replacing Pitto to add mobility.

Melbourne were all over Collingwood running-wise late in that game. We cannot get slower or less mobile whatever we go with IMO.

Key is to make sure we can nullify the fast break from defence that comes with Neal Bullen, hunter and Langdon.

As good as Doc is he can’t go with them at the moment. Acres can obviously (looking forward to watching his running more closely in preseason).

It’s tempting to bring in Hollands this week. Many will say “Cotts” but there is no hope he moves from his role as half forward and wing cover. No hope. He’s played it like 12 weeks in a row and has it nailed.

But in the end I think they will leave it as is. Doc isn’t going back. And there is no spot for him in the central mid rotation. It will require very quick reaction time from Acres and Cotts covering from deep.

If Doc can't go with them, then what role does he play?

This is going to be a tough game without both Harrison and Jack M. I think Jack S would be a good in. But how would it be if Blake A was to spend some time forward (rotating between wing and HFF), and Hollands was to come in?

Other names in the mix are Boyd, Dow, Kennedy and Motlop. I can see arguments for any of these to be included instead of Hollands, but I do like Hollands constant run.

Is H a definite out this coming week? He definitely looked groggy so I assume he misses.

Who is the replacement? Jsos only other tallish to potentially come in but has been out for a while??

I would consider moving McGovern up front if we were trailing and our forward group were not functioning well. He’s a trump card for us. Can do freakish things.

Not keen on altering the defence so gov stays imo TDK can go forward
Jack Martin how do we cover him best cast scenario is it gets reduced to 1 week…is sos fit ? Maybe Kennedy, Dow, Mots

Lots of depth which is good

If we make the GF, you could put out the AFL Team of the 20th century against us and we wouldn’t lose.

One week at a time to get there though
