Do we normally give injury updates for VFL listed players? I'd just assume he's got an injury.
The clubs will usually lodge the team sheet with OUT: player (injury) but other than that no. Keep a look out for his local club and see if he plays there this weekend. That will confirm his availability/been dropped

I haven't watched much reserves play so far. What do people make of Will Edwards? I've been excited by him as a potential diamond in the rough as a big key defender in the mould of the current crop of 197cm+, 100kg key defenders.
I am bullish on him too but he will take some time. Has played almost exclusively as a defender in the VFL so far and has been solid enough for his first few games without much fanfare.

I saw him in the Brisbane scratch match (first part) and thought he looked pretty decent. Played forward in that game and mostly picked up the speed OK. Well coordinated. Took a nice mark. Held his own pretty well against big mature bodies. Probably a year or so ahead of where I expected he would be. Didn't really notice him in the Box Hill game.

I am definitely a fan, he has all the tools I reckon. But he is still a bit raw. Has perhaps been a little underwhelming early on this season compared to that game, and even compared to some VFL games last year however that’s likely due to play more of a structured role within the team rather than topping up the numbers. Not to mention our undermanned defence meaning he probably has to be play an even tighter defensive role.

Not at all worried, I certainly didn’t expect he’d play senior footy in 2023.

Screams LRT to me.

A chance for a few to shine.

Hope Hickey gets through. We need a ruckman with some sense.

If Rankin shows he is better than a cardboard cutout he’d be an upgrade on Cunningham. Given Horses strategic preference for minimal possession players he’d be advised to get no more than 10.

Opportunities for plenty of others.

Anyone thinking about heading out tomorrow? Debating whether I do the hike (pretty much takes up the day if I use PT) or just watch the stream.
Beautiful still mid Autumn day and perfect for footy. Hope we have some Board rep at the game.

Will watch the stream but nothing replaces at the game insights.

Kirk looks a goer. Gets to the right places.

I'm pretty sure Cleary & Crocker are wearing each other's numbers.

The Bullants look more dangerous going forward but I suppose that's expected. We lose all forward structure when McLean, Amartey etc are out of the side, and now we don't even have Francis there.

I also just want to see Sheather think his way through situations more rather than just dishing it off to the nearest human being when he's under pressure.
