You might have to look elsewhere then, Mabior, don't see you getting much of a look-in at the LionsThe 26-year-old's management last week released a statement on Chol, saying that he was enjoying his time at the Suns but "wants to be a regular at AFL level".
High-end talent, low-end outcomes"We are aware and have been approached by a number of clubs that are interested in Mabior due to his high-end talent to see where everything sits," said Ashley Blair from Pacific Sports Management.

agree I like Prior and his efforts. At times I think he has been a little stiff to be dropped, but we have, IMO slightly better options in the current best 22, across the backline and or wing.I’m wondering if we might be thinking about Coffield as a wing option.
A bit strange to be linked to Coffield when we have a similar player in Prior.
Coffield generally considered a better kick, but Prior has shown he has a bit of mongrel about him.
chol would be pretty much taking fullartons place on our list if we commit to two talls going forward would be a dumb career move for him to come here imo

Prior has had variable levels of performance this year (both AFL and VFL) but gets dropped from the AFL quicker than some other players. His last few weeks in the VFL have been excellent and he is definitely an AFL standard player IMO.agree I like Prior and his efforts. A definite whipping boy under Fagan for the last few years. That said, ours is a very hard team to break into. He would be better off heading west.Prior has had variable levels of performance this year (both AFL and VFL) but gets dropped from the AFL quicker than some other players. Doedee would be our 3rd shutdown defender Gardiner doesn’t seem to be in our plans I think Doedee would be our 2nd defensive player which would allow Harris to play that loose defensive player a role he plays well
if he is on around $400k, I reckon the only way we consider him, is IF Tom F is leaving, and as you say Suns pay some of his salaryGold Coast would have to pay some of his salary for us too I think. Seems very unlikely to me
I think Buzza is too slow for AFL (but I haven't watched too much VFL), and he has already been on the list at two clubs. Chol possibly, BUT only if Suns are paying some of his salary AND Fullarton leaving.Agree, if Chol comes to the Lions then he is likely to be playing VFL unless there are injuries, which is exactly the same place as he is at the Suns.
If Fullaton leaves, then Buzza is also as good an option as Chol. Buzza also plays well in defence, but may be a bit slow for AFL.
I think Prior's issue is that while he's an honest, hard-working player, he lacks a unique selling point. I don't think he provides a skill set that can't be provided by another player. I like him and would hope he stays with us for a long time, but I feel he is always likely to be the sort of player that tends to get overlooked for others.Prior has had variable levels of performance this year (both AFL and VFL) but gets dropped from the AFL quicker than some other players. How much is 400k p/s under new CBA? Presuming he comes on a deal that doesn't increase under new CBA.
If Fages and this coaching group is wedded to the 3 tall set up, which doesn’t include Cam as one of those “talls”, then it makes sense. His athleticism at his age, is an upgrade on Jack’s obviously.
I also wonder whether getting someone else in to play 2nd ruck will extend Joe’s career a bit longer, as he’ll then only have to focus on playing up forward as he gets to the back end of his career.
It also makes most sense for him, given you’d think he moved back to QLD for a reason and if he doesn’t get along with Dimma (who knows for sure about that), then I guess he only has one other option.
Like Tom14 said though, you’d want to hope they’re tipping in some cash.
NEW Gold Coast coach Damien Hardwick will watch the club’s VFL preliminary final this weekend as Mabior Chol, Jeremy Sharp and Chris Burgess consider their futures.
Wingman Sharp was on the outer with Stuart Dew, with Chol contracted and keen to stay as another player who was not a huge fan of the former coach given he had been pushed out of the side.
Brisbane is believed to have some interest in Chol given uncertainty about Jack Gunston’s future, reluctant to keep rucking Joe Daniher.
So similar thinking within the club.An addition to Ralphy's article from earlier (or I'm blind and missed it) basically says this: CODE Sports
Next preseason will be interesting for those twoAt some point we really should give Lane or Smith a run in the firsts to see how they go. We have so many of that style player we need to see if they have a future or move on and develop someone else
So what your saying is we should replace Daniher and Hipwood to replace them with Lane and Smith on Grand Final Day (if we make it) with Gunston playing as the 3rd tall and finally teaching the key forwards how to move.At some point we really should give Lane or Smith a run in the firsts to see how they go.
