I'm not overwrapped in Chol but if he came cheap I don't think it'd be the silliest thing we've ever done.

We're in a pivotal spot re our list development over the next 5 years and the one thing we need to avoid is too many list cloggers on too much.

I doubt we'd take him tbh but a lot depends on what the real story is with Gunners .

We've been spoiled with big guys of the quality of Daniher and Hipwood , and have Oscar doing a job when we got him for nothing. They're not easy to come by these sort of players . I doubt Lane or Smith will get near that level.

Think I’d rather gamble on a young tall draftee in the rare chance they’d develop tbh.
We don't need to gamble on a new draftee. We just extended young Henry Smith for an extra two years.

So what your saying is we should replace Daniher and Hipwood to replace them with Lane and Smith on Grand Final Day (if we make it) with Gunston playing as the 3rd tall and finally teaching the key forwards how to move.

Smart thinking KissKiss, Fly and his Collingwood players would never think of that happening in a million years - have you ever decided to apply for the senior coaching job once Fages retires ;)

The only way to build a positive culture in a football club is allowing everyone a fair go :$

*- Probably why I’m maybe considering studying to become a PE teacher with my accepting philosophy of everyone.

Unsure on the no to Chol chat here. I’d take him in a heartbeat. He would be a nightmare to match up on as a third tall. Super athletic, good grab and a very reliable shot at goal. Has been a bit soft this year though and has lacked effort. But if he can overcome this form slump it would be a very interesting forward line we’d bring in next year. Would be very exciting. Daniher, Hipwood and Chol. No opposition is stopping all three and would suit our bomb it long to a contest style of game.

KissKiss said give them a go in the Firsts not the finals. Pretty sure he wouldn't have meant this season either.

Just messing around with our good friend KissKiss, don’t expect us in a thousand years we would do that even if our key forwards weren’t available on that particular day.

Can see Smith getting some minutes next year in the team if one of our key forwards go down, but isn’t Lane predominantly ruckman material so that would make it harder for him to be in our AFL side unless all our ruckman go down (touchwood never happens).

I doubt very much we look at Chol with Gunners having a year to run on he's contract we still have big O and Lane who can play that forward/ruck role

We have re-signed Fort as well. It'll be dumb to get Chol in and then try to draft a KP forward in this draft. The kid won't get any opportunity both in 1s and 2s to actually play tall forward and develop his craft. We'll have Fort, Chol, Buzza, Lane, Smith for starters.

Or Gunston retires, so we can afford Chol, and proves he is a real clubman.

Not that I am keen on him.

If Gunston retires, we should play Fort in our forward line as both ruck cover and third tall. We should've done this in the first place this year so Lane/Smith would have room to develop as 1st ruck in 2s. Fort and Big O can swap and be a real nightmare for opposition.

I don’t understand this argument. Fort looked terrible up forward.

I am re-watching the Lions v Port to get a gauge on how we match up against Carlton (well I might add) and interestingly, with about 6-7 minutes to go in the first quarter, they cut to Treloar sitting in the crowd next to someone in a Lions jumper and talking with them. Should we read anything in to that?

Kyle Dunkley plays VFL for the Lions pretty sure they were there to support Josh

As others have said this was Kyle Dunkley and treloar’s partner/Dunkley’s family; there were plenty of other lions VFL players sitting around them too. Wouldn’t read anything in to it

I believe it was Bont wearing the lions jumper.

with ashcroft missing most of next year....

do we consider boak on a 1 year contract? i thought he actually looked very good last night. has not had a great season but struggled to work into it after that incident in the preseason game where he ended up in hospital. might have enough left in the tank to get one more solid year out of him. always seemed like a good character too
