I can't really be ****ed going into an indepth analysis, but off the top of my head, the last few ruckmen that have finished the year with premiership medals around their necks have been Darcy Cameron/Cox, Stanley, Gawn/Jackson, Nankervis, Lycett.

Aside from the obvious Melbourne outlier, there are no out and out guns there. People are justified in worrying about Xerri even though I think he'll be fine, but I don't reckon it's a position we need to pour a ton of time or money into in order to move up the ladder. I'd put money on Clarksons feeling the same way

You need to be able to compete and to compete you need to have a tank and be able to stay on the park. That is what made Goldy great, we didn't need to carry two ruckmen and he rarely got injured. But he is 35, we can't build a side around him any longer.

I'd rather go for someone like Moyle from GC, he is 205cm, he is only 21 and isn't getting games at GC. Played 2 this year.

Full backs and rucks are redundant. Melbourne is a prime example of where the game is at and what you need. Probably why im so keen on Curtin, a 195cm backline player that can use the ball from D 50 with “some” defensive nous.

How many games would Hawthorn win without Sicily? 1 or 2 games? If you play like Sicily, you are a gun. Curtin is Sicily. You take a 80% Sicily. campaigners a gun

What? May is one of the best lock down defenders in the game who can rebound as well. Lever a great intercept/ rebound defender.

Sicily an intercepting/ rebounding gun.

Curtin is a suspect key defender according to several draft experts. This is actually the biggest knock on him for some in that they are uncertain where he fits at AFL level.

The fact you use Melbourne as an example of Full Backs and Rucks being redundant is absurd considering Gawn, May and Lever would be in Melbourne's first 5 players picked every week!

Moyle didn't really look overly mobile to me and struggled to get involved.

Well it means 4 fifths of **** all when it comes to winning. How lockdown is Darcy Moore? Poop. How good is Howe as a lockdown? Poop? Do those ****ers even have a “lockdown”? Harris Andrews isn’t lockdown.. those days are done

We have hit a snag, he hasn't played more than 12 games in a year, to date.
Who was that shit truck ruckman that turned up and played finals for the Lions during there three peat after being injured all year, was an injured spud all season but was Dean Cox for two games

Fair enough. I think Xerri would be able to do both but an insurance pickup is logical enough. I assume Gold Coast would twist our arms for Moyle though. He's supposed to be pretty mobile, isn't he

Howe kept Hipwood to 0 goals in the Grand Final. Barely saw him all game.

Harris Andrews is arguably the best all-round defender in the comp and set the tone for the Brisbane comeback in the Prelim. Darcy Moore is more of an intercept defender and a bloody good one at that.

Can't believe what i'm reading honestly.

If you can't keep your opposition to 10 goals pretty consistently, you ain't winning finals.

All of the top teams seem to have a defense first mentality and build their offense off defense.

Keating? Or Notting?

I’d love to work Bailey Williams in a trade with WC somehow. I was impressed with him when he played against us in Perth .

2, FP1, FP1

For

1 and Bailey Williams

Actually i went to Yallourn Technical College Thought i better redeem myself with my spelling. Ha ha .
So many tech kids saw what school i went to and called me a homophobic slur despite the fact the tech itself was an all boys school for decades 😡

The idea of landing guns in literally every single position instead of Reid is freaking tough to give up
This. I'd much rather 2-3 elite players in multiple positions over 1 really Elite player. I just don't get it.

If Dodoro and Scott don’t offer a contract that triggers Band 1, we match and say don’t call us back until your 1st round (pick 8) is on the table + something else seeing as you value BZT as a first rounder.

Nobody should be surprised, Essendon will be banking on North to fold and accept pick 19. All they have done for there entire existence is try to Bully North and small clubs.

There is not a world where we accept pick 19 for McKay, which becomes pick 25+ after academy and father sons.

We have the leverage- Match it at all costs. The right people are in positions of power, time for a line in the sand moment.
