Hello Shinboners!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

Hipwood had an absolute stinker. Wasn’t because of a “lockdown” role. You are kidding yoursel. We played Carlton as a struggling side with NO TALLS and lost by 5 kicks. Take ya lockdown talls and stick em. The game is not designed the way it once was. FACT.

If you break down what happened in the GF it had nothing to do with defence. Take it to the bank.

You might not like what you read, its just facts. Bug dumb defenders are redundant

Mirboo North High ….. not dux I have no faith in any town of gippsland these days. I went back to the mother land after we sold our farm over a decade ago, a decade between visits and its nothing how I remember it. Its sad, it really is, what from my memory and i’d say everyone elses memory, the place (latrobe valley) had so much going for it. Then once the privatisation of powerstations the first initial decline after, and farming absolutely dismantled by free trade. The joints ****ed. Based on current economic dispositions of the surrounding towns, Lowanna will be sub par state education.

And I doubt we’ll see an AFL player from that region for some time. Even though, in the day, Latrobe Valley was a red hot region for young footballers. We’ll see a few here n there but not to the level they were once were.

Nice to hear you’re still a Gippslander at heart! I agree with what you’ve said in terms of
the Power stations and financial hardships. Unfortunately we’re in for a tough ride with the up and coming closing of Loy Yang and Yallourn power stations too. However, despite the hardships, I live in a great community. Yes, there are a lot in the low SES category, especially in the Valley, but there’s fantastic people who live here. The local footy is still strong, especially the Gippsland Power program. We still have lots of talent. In terms of Lowanna, it has improved to what it once was. It now has an excellent Sports Academy Program which continues to expand, where students come from all over the state and recently as far as the NT to be apart of it. The education outcomes are now actually above the average for the state and climbing. You’re right, it’s not competing with the private Melbourne schools but hands down beats the other public schools in Gippsland, especially against other schools across the state in similar demographics. In terms of talent, we’ve had Sam Skinner, Sam Flanders, Brock Smith, Leo Connelly, Harry Pepper, Bailey Humphrey and Jacob Konstanty all drafted over the last few years and Lowanna Sports Academy graduates. The next year or two will be quiet but we have more talent coming through, potentially including some North father-sons. Things are looking up

Still waiting on a justification as to why it makes sense for the scum to offer marginally less then Band 1?

It makes zero sense for every party.
Apart from crazy Doro?
I should probably pin this above my desk.
should be pinned to the top of this thread along with the draft picks we have

It's probably because we exist as a club.

You can take the bloke out of Gippsland but he’ll always love the joint. Inverloch is where I can be found over summer. Favourite place to be.

I sure am looking forward to the day when we start getting linked to key defenders and intercepting defenders.

I want Ridley. If the board doesn’t know it already. I want that ****er in the blue and white ASAP! Ridley, Logue, Curtin plus small + half backs… thats backline 100% complete.

What? May is one of the best lock down defenders in the game who can rebound as well. Lever a great intercept/ rebound defender.

Sicily an intercepting/ rebounding gun.

Curtin is a suspect key defender according to several draft experts. This is actually the biggest knock on him for some in that they are uncertain where he fits at AFL level.

The fact you use Melbourne as an example of Full Backs and Rucks being redundant is absurd considering Gawn, May and Lever would be in Melbourne's first 5 players picked every week!
How many forwards do they throw back who make good defenders....plenty. Curtin has more than enough other attributes its hard to see him not being able to punch when needed being one of them before too long.
If we dont get Reid im more than happy to take Curtin with 2. Perhaps he does turns into a Fyfe type instead, we'll still be happy.

Shame he's contracted for another 3 years.

Without getting into godfather offer territory, Howard and Haynes seem like the best gettable ones remaining. Maybe Doedee and Coffield too, depending on how well their legs still work.
