What’s more tolerable

Excessive $ or excessive length?

If the dogs got naughton on reasonable money of say $800k with indexing, I wouldn’t be perturbed. He’s a gun. He wants to stay. And if you need to in the future you can always trade him, at least from a position of strength.

He was on 800k so you’d have to imagine he got an increase on top of the CBA 10%

Good chance this is 950k to a million a year.

Hello again Shinboners.

Anyone know where this Darling talk is coming from? We have an ex mod on our board who has North links and he says the Darling stuff isn't crap. No reason not to take it at face value.

I just don't see either side benefitting from it. He's an undersized tall forward. Larkey does need some help, sure, but Jack Darling?

Conversely he has his flaws but he's a useful and respected senior player, if a bit frustrating. The talk is salary dumping.

Does anyone of you actually want this?
Given the number of senior players that have retired from West Coast, I'm surprised that West Coast would need to salary dump.

Most of the WCE board are suggesting this trade 🤦
Well of course they are, I would suggest that too if we were in their 18th placed position. But we're not, so we can say thanks but no thanks.

Supposedly we’re still tightish for the coming year but golden after that which makes this whole rumour really odd.

Sydney went hard for Larkey. I reckon Naughts was their next target and 8 years is what it took for him to stay.

A disgusting contract.
That's cool. They have JUH, Darcy and most likely Croft as well.

I think having that cap space can be handy, especially if someone wants to salary dump or if there is a player from WA you want to offer a ridiculous amount of cash to go home. Someone would have to be on the horizon.

Everything about a Clayton Oliver move diminishes North’s hand, as he ain’t going anywhere without Melbourne securing enough to trade up for Reid.

And if it were us to take him in, it would need to involve pick3, by which time you’d just give a little more and take Reid instead.

Everything about it is s**t. Stay away and pray he stays at the demons.

Could we help with the Dees WC trade if Oliver goes to Crows?

In: 6,10
Out: 2

Then trade with GC to trump Dogs.

In: 5, F2 (GC), F3 (GC)
Out: 15, 20, PPF1, PPF2

This would leave us with 4 picks in top 10.

3, 5, 6, 10, 41, 53, 60

Future ammo

F1, F2, F2 (GC), F3, F3 (GC), F4

Throw some late picks at a few fringe guys who can improve us on field.

If we don’t end up targeting Oliver, we better damn find a way to end up with Reid, McKercher and one of Watson/Curtin/O’Sullivan
