Who in their right f*cking mind would say yes?
Im starting to think that the media have no idea how the draft even works.

Surprised they didn't just outright laugh at the question.
But then they wouldn't get the opportunity to spend two minutes talking about it, and then put it up on Twitter for the engagement. Plus god knows how many other idiots putting up similar suggestions.

Good for naughts though I guess, unless the club has locked him in for criminally low dollars.
One way or another someone is getting robbed
I mean it might work out well for both parties by the end of it but woo lad 8 years is a ****ing long time.

Good player, but he's not Buddy - our bloke didn't get 8 and he was third in the Coleman in a side second bottom on percentage

I think it's fair. North have heaps of 1st round picks so the right thing to do is to ensure that some of the other clubs get a bit of a go. Especially the clubs that get plenty of space in the media so they can help to promte and grow the game.

Serious questions need to be answered before they even decide on trying to get him across (plus I doubt he would be that interested in joining us) and if that gets a tick then they still face the draft cost of the trade, knowing Melbourne want pick 1 (spoiler alert so do we).
Exactly right!

While WC hold the prize we hold the whip-hand in trade negotiations for pick 1 and should not be assisting anyone else to get him.

I can't see WC doing a deal for pick 1 that doesn't guarantee they'll land Curtin and not sure with the state of their list that taking a risk on Clarry is right for them and while he's an absolute gun I don't believe he's right for us.

Not an expert but Reid was the third best player in that group this year. He has some real match winning qualities, high potential and was better last year, though.

Reid is my pick 1 but I wouldn't be shocked if both McKercher and Sanders have better careers. They're not too far behind him, as prospects.
This is the point every year - pick 1 doesn't necessarily win the lottery.

You need as many tickets in the 1-10 range, maybe 1-20 as possible (which is pretty much what the WC list manager said - as has Clarkson). People liken Reid to Hodge - fair enough, Hodge went 1, and he was the winning ticket. But who went 3 in that draft? Chris Judd, pretty handy

So doesn't it make sense to take 2 players(2&3) than 1 player. As much as Reid is exceptional talent I can't see why we would go all out for 1 player.

Also need to think the type of player too... Reid is still classified as utility... whereas sanders is a pure inside and mckerch prob a dual bow... Clarko has said we are in a good place with mids.. whether he believes that it is just media talk will have to wait and see....

If thats the case then offer 14,19 to GC for 4(5) then offer40, 2024 19 and 20 to GWS for 6 (7) and take Haynes and his salary

We then end up with 2,3, 4(5) and 6(7) to go into the draft with plus Haynes.

Not sure what we should offer to get Fisher and Stephens across to us...maybe 52 and late future picks..
