I'm almost inclined to try and trade the Port pick and/or the priority pick for a seasoned medium defender. Just test the market for a Starcevich/Maynard/Idun type.

We don't need to keep stacking the list with youth, nor midfielders and non key forwards, especially with the picks we already hold. It's the 24-28 age bracket where we're lacking. And it's defence and key positions where we're lacking.

It's just such an imbalanced list that I want to cry. We may well see Kallan Dawson and Toby Pink (both of whom might not make it onto another list) fight it out for a spot whilst having to leave out one of our six mid/fwd hybrid types in Curtis, Zurhaar, Ford, George, TT and Sheezel.

continue to be a mainstay in defence whilst two or three talented inside mids are forced back to the VFL because they can't get a look in ahead of their teammates.

We are in a nice position of leverage now, if Weagles like Curtin, and deal with anyone bar us for pick 1, that ship has sailed.

100% we should be leveraging that we hold the rights to the next two picks after their Pick 1. No other club other than us can guarantee them their target if they want to give up Reid.

As for talk of 2 and 3, If that was to eventuate, burn the joint down. The total sum output of the talent that you can get at 2 and 3 far outweighs Reid. He isn’t f’ing superman.

If we get GC pick 11 with our next year's 2 x PP then we would end with:

agree entirely, lets just entertain that he becomes the next danger or walsh, i cant see a combination or curtin, McK, watson, or sudsy not being a worse outcome? i would be passing on duursma 2.0 and waiting for duursma 3.0 (WIllem) next year.

It’s no different to taking JHF over Sheezel and Wardlaw. It’s Sheezel and Wardlaw everyday of the week.

The number 1 pick is so overrated it’s not funny. It’s one player. Reid would want to be the next Wayne Carey to give up the rights to the next Shannon Grant plus Anthony Stevens.
