does this mean we are thinking more likely not we are going to use those 5 early picks and we are confident that we won't be able to trade up to 1 and/or trade 15/17/18 into something up the order ?? just reading between the lines

Nothing to read other than maybe we have a dfa we are keen on

We already know we likely using 5 picks just depends if it will include pick 57 after we trade up our 5 firsts into 4 higher ones or not

Bottom line is we have 7 spots to fill that can be done over senior and rookie lists

We currently have 5 firsts and pick 57

And the option to keep a spare list spot but we could also just put Logue inactive and have a train on player then taken ssp

We will have 5 ND picks Brady already confirmed he’s looking at packaging 2 picks for a top 10 pick and then use pick 57 as our 5th pick with 4 first rounders and if that doesn’t work then just take our 5 first rounders

So we will have 37 senior list

Then 1 or 2 rookies depending on if we want a dfa instead

He said he was looking at packaging up picks to move up the order, he didn't specifically say a top 10 pick.

Nostra - with these 3 now delisted how many players (main list and rookies) have left/retired/we let go this year - it must be in the low teens. And if you look at who is OOC at end 24 it's likely we will see this happen again - a real clean out. And on the assistant coaches side it looks like a clean out as well.

IF North Melbourne have turned over a third of their list
THEN They can't ask the AFL for more assistance, they have to get this right unlike the failures of previous regimes etc.

Best of luck to the 3 boys and all others cut this year. I think it's definitely time for them so I'm glad to be drawing a line behind the last era. With Cunners, Goldy & JZ gone as well it is now Larkey, Simpkin, Zurhaar etc and LDU's team with help from some mature recruits in Logue, Corr and senior support from Shiels. Good to put the line in the sand and pass things on IMO.
