Look Jon. It's still a silly trade.Ralph’s ‘company’ is AFL players and legends on a daily basis. You’d dream to be in his position.

I don't really hero worship like that.Ralph’s ‘company’ is AFL players and legends on a daily basis. You’d dream to be in his position.
Kidding yourself if you think these players and legends associate with himRalph’s ‘company’ is AFL players and legends on a daily basis. You’d dream to be in his position.
This comes across as you bragging but I’m not sure you should be.Ralphy suggesting exactly what I suggested a couple of days back. It went down like a lead balloon on here. Are you ok? The bolded below suggests that trade isn't even enough lol
Hawthorn
This is where it gets interesting because Hawthorn would offer up a pick currently at No.3 and have WA-based talent the Eagles might genuinely be interested in.
Subiaco’s Tyler Brockman and Swan Districts No.6 draft pick Denver Grainger-Barras both fit the age demographic and needs.
Brockman could be anything as a clever, exciting small forward, while Grainger-Barras has not yet lived up to expectations as a strong defensive interceptor.
But if the Eagles list team that watched him so closely as a teen were still in love with him, he is still only 21 and would slot into a succession plan for Jeremy McGovern.
Clearly, it would only be the start of a package for Reid.
And the Hawks are in a similar spot – desperate to maximise all their assets to bring in depth of talent rather than just one quality player per draft.
But Reid, in that midfield alongside Josh Ward, Will Day, Cam Mackenzie and Jai Newcombe, is a mouth-watering prospect.
problem I have with this view is, treating this as a non-joke makes this an anchor in any negotiations.Clearly Eagles would want Brocky if we wanted to get pick one from them. They'd be mad not to.
Probably DGB too, but he wouldn't have as much currency as fans think on here. He's coming from a long way back, no guarantees there.
I don't really see anything wrong with what Ralphy said. That's probably the cost and perhaps even the dogs second.
But yeah, I don't think the club will actively look at it tbh. Unless Brocky requests a trade home, which others have said won't happen. So great.
Let's get a key forward.
So Ralph throws out the same scenario as you and you're right all of a sudden.Ralphy suggesting exactly what I suggested a couple of days back. It went down like a lead balloon on here. Are you ok? The bolded below suggests that trade isn't even enough lol

I wasn't being critical of your post or idea. I love the hypotheticals thread because all ideas are welcomedI more than happy with this outcome. I just threw a Hypothetical on the Hypothetical page. Crazy hey!
Ralphy is a talking door knobOld Ralphy thinks we need to add more to get Pick one from the weagles.
problem I have with this view is, treating this as a non-joke makes this an anchor in any negotiations.
I am sad that a few here are not taking that as a Joke offer. I laughed at DGB + pick 3 + F1. My best offer is DGB + 3. Only say that so that I can then trade pick 1 to some one else who will give pick 5-6 + 2 1st rounders( 1 of them can be F1).
Else I prefer to just use pick 3 and be done with it.
So in other words, Jon Ralph is getting paid to write the type of tripe that is posted on this board for free. Criminal, he's absolutely stealing a living.No-one, not even Ralphy, is saying we should make that trade.
It's just the type of reality if a team is desperate for Harley, they're going to have to give up plenty.
Ashcroft has been amazing this year, and it's reported most recruiters still would have taken Harley pick one last year... wild
Pick 3 and DGB significantly undersells the cost of Harley mate.
But like you, I don't actually think we will pay the price. Unless, unless, Brocky requests a trade which others say won't happen.
Remember that Port nuffy who said that it was just wishful thinking from Hawks posters that he would even play midfield.Yeah we will keep him thanks. But crazy how far the perception has come in 6 months. On the draft board at the start of year we had nuffs claiming he is only worth a "Mid second round", than it went to teens pick, than top 10. He signed on and now Kingy will trade Pick 1 for him.
Insane how some people don't see the potential in players from the qualities they possess. Anyone could see from his draft highlights how quick thinking he was, that was the one thing that really leapt out for me. The touch, the ability to squeeze through traffic, keep his hands free, find outlet kicks.Remember that Port nuffy who said that it was just wishful thinking from Hawks posters that he would even play midfield.
No-one, not even Ralphy, is saying we should make that trade.
It's just the type of reality if a team is desperate for Harley, they're going to have to give up plenty. The type of package that makes fans uncomfortable really.

What Ralphy writes, or we have fun with on bigfooty, will have no impact on any discussions that may be had between clubs mate.
Giants are best positioned to pay given they'll have two and potentially three top 10 picks. Must be tempting for them.
Ralphy is saying Eagles will want more and you jumped in and added the WB 2nd round pick. You gave the joke oxygen.
When we have pick 3, we don't need Reid. Now if we had pick 11, I may consider wild options like this. Pick 3 is still a very good player. Assuming both fulfill potential, will be roughly 90% of Reid's potential effect on a team. Other teams need mid's badly, we don't. We have other needs.
I am saying don't give this oxygen else it becomes a line in sand over a period of time. I am hoping that Tyler extends his contract soon that kills off any such speculation.
All ideas except Barrett, Ralph and several BF posters of course.I wasn't being critical of your post or idea. I love the hypotheticals thread because all ideas are welcomed
We need to move on from Reid we don’t have the assets to do it and aren’t at the right stage of rebuild to give up that much. Our focus needs to be to improve our draft hands this year and next, starting ideally with another pick before McCabe and any decent free agent this year. Watson Caddy McCabe is my hope.
Forget this. He will be with HawthornWorpel remaining out of contract could become an interesting situation if that's still the case in a few months time.
He is playing fantastic this year, and I would assume he is re-signed, but it was interesting listening to Sam about the lack of midfield minutes available right now for guys like Ward, Mackenzie and especially CMAC.
I think there is raps on Hustwaite also as an inside mid?
