Wouldn’t he cost too much? I recall Carlton talking their first a few years back. That aside papley in 1 pocket and the wizard in the other. That would be truly something.
It ain’t going to happen. Sydney would want two first rounders or at least one and a second.

Freo have sent a reminder to all list managers about the wisdom of trading your future 1st. I'd consider it but god it's a risk. Every chance it ends up as pick 4-6. I had assumed we would trade it for another first round pick this year.

Unless they want him off their books so they can grab Harry McKay, trade there that helps all parties.

Sydney grab two mature bookends, Amarty + McKay and McCartin+ Barras would be pretty handy KP stocks.

Hawthorn trade our Future First for Papely
Sydney trade McDonald and Papely for McKay and Barras
Carlton trade McKay for Hawthorn's Future First and Swans pick 6.
West Coast trade Barras for McDonald
Thell be getting buddy off their books and probably Rampe. They have no need to get Papley off the books.

Sam Edmund reporting that north would take mckercher and Curtin if they got a McKay compo pick at 3.

They would have to take a KPP at 3 because o'sullivan and the Sandy kid won't be there at the port pick most likely.

If this happens we are choosing between the wiz and duursma. I'm taking the wiz
Have it on decent authority that North won’t pass on Watson if they have two top picks. You can lock Colby to North now.

If I'm looking for a detestable small forward, I'd prefer to focus on Ginnivan than Papley. Not sure why he's not playing at the moment and the whole ducking into tackles thing was a bit sour (though Moore does just as good a job of it) - but he is/was(?) a natural footballer with great goal sense.

Freo were expected to make finals. We are expected to be out, even bottom 4, hence our F1 has high value. We need to drive that point to get picks that are equivalent to say a pick 5 in this year.

So our f1 should be equal to Blues 10 and their F1 + some change, that should be our starting point in negotiations.

Classic North.

They have no one to partner Larkey, will lose McKay to FA, and will take two small mids if they get the chance.

Watch them put their hands out for another priority pick next year.

They should get a priority pick this year, next year and the year after. Need them to be an AFL level team by the time they move to Tasmania.

Why improve when you can just continue to be rewarded for being terrible?

They are a blight on the league, but they’ll be gifted so many top picks and compensation that they’ll inevitably be good. When they have a great team in 7 years everyone will bang on about their miraculous rebuild and ignore it though.

From the Herald Sun today

Along with Sanders, the club’s recruiting boss Brady Rawlings admitted the Roos were keen to bolster their key position stocks as well.

“We certainly need to look at that key defensive position,” Rawlings said on a club video.

“We are well aware we haven’t picked very tall over recent seasons.”

Given those comments there's noway they can select both McKercher & Watson with Curtin available

It's BS. They're trying to spook WCE into not dealing with us on Reid.

Why.. they can ship Zurhaar off as a Free Agent next year and wait for band one compo and another 2 x top 5 picks!! They’ve clocked the system!!
It’s vomit material really.

Sure have.
If only they could win games of football, they'd be a very successful football team.

The difference here is that Freo would've been projecting to at least match last years performance, and priced their future first pick accordingly (say pick 10+). Whereas I feel we'd be pricing our future first in 3-8 range, meaning it carries higher value. So in that regard, we're a little more risk aware of what we'd be giving up.
