I wouldn't call any of them A-graders. I believe they were called out after being brought up by the media. Just like Bailey Smith.

I would love to have him, but as it sits he would be the 2nd worst kick on our list and as a player who'd expect to play wing/HF that's a genuine point of concern.

If it's something that is going to drain us much of anything on top of a future 1st, even less our 3rd pick this year, I don't think he offers much on top of what we've already got.
Could we see him as more of an inside mid? Has the explosiveness to do it, see no reason he couldn't be a similar type of player to Danger, inside mid, high meters gained and hitting the scoreboard.

I really want him but am happy to admit that i am bias on this one, fell in love with him in his first year and dreamed on having him since. He is a very very different type of mid to what we have on the list.

Gotta say though, the drums of Smith to Hawthorn was beating pretty hard for over a month now for those ITK.

I think it is actually the most likely of all the trades.

We've had some good info on our boards. It's always prefaced by the "confidence", but you can't expect anything to be 100%.
All 'reported' on here after being speculated by the media in some form or another. What about Lynch, Cognilio, Shiel, Cameron, Bowes, Bruhn, Sloane, O'Keefe, Treloar and the list goes on? Some are bound to land if you throw darts at every out-of-contract or tradeable player.

And it has been proven Coniglio was very seriously considering the Hawks, all the media reported the same with Shiel and Bowes.

If this bothers you so much just stay out of the trade threads.

Lynch was only ever reported we were talking to him, which we were.
Coniglio was all but signed as we all know.
Cameron no one reported on this here
Bowes only that we threw the kitchen sink at him quite late in the piece, this was true
Bruhn we were only chatting to, Geelong trumped us
Sloane some feelers were put out, but I don't think it ever went anywhere
O'Keefe came down and met with the club, was pretty close to happening
Treloar I don't recall any poster saying we even had a conversation with him.

All this proves is that things are fluid which they are.

Obviously the uncertainty is too much for you, so you're better off logging out of the thread an waiting for all trades to be signed sealed and delivered rather than enjoying the possibilities and ongoing conversations that come this time of year.

Yeah, man, just put them on ignore. No one cares if you don’t want to read it. I personally love it, I get nothing in terms of information outside of bigfooty and will continue to come here to read it, right or wrong in the end.

Yet you will probably complain if noone posts any intel or updates

Drafts/trading possible isnt a good discussion thread for you

Just remember, trade speculation is never 100% accurate.

Clubs make offers to management. Management share with player. Original club gets involved and offers more. Oher clubs get involved and offer more. It's a fluid exercise. Believe the posters here if you wish, but mentally reconcile the ones who usually don't bullshit. It's like choosing to read the Murdoch press or not ;).

Seems like doggies will hold Smith to his contract, even if he wants out. Being reported in the media.
It may be true but even if they are willing to move him they would never say it publicly at this stage.

If they do it will be a dunkley scenario. He will just leave anyway the year after and they will get less for him

Just stop, or I’ll just remove you from the thread. Simples.

Nothing in a negotiation will be 100% accurate unless you are getting reliable information from every party to the negotiation, which nobody will be. There are too many moving parts: player, player's manager, Club A, Club B and sometimes Clubs C and D as well. Every party will have a different take on the state of play. People report the information they receive, generally in connection to one of the parties and sometimes that comes to fruition and sometimes it doesn't because there are multiple other parties involved.

Watch Smith walk at the end of 2024 just like Dunkley did to the lions.

More often than not, it’s a lose - lose holding players against their will.

Dogs were W*ankers with their demands on Dunkley. More likely pushing players towards walking via pre season and end up with zero.

All bluff.

If he says in his exit interview “i am unhappy and want to be traded for a fresh start for my well-being he will be traded”

The Dogs will want our pick 3 and a player which we will not do so perhaps the cats with pick 8 and maybe Esava thrown in might be in the box seat .

I reckon we’d do our future first and Frost ( rumour has it dogs and Roos are looking at him)

Wasn't entirely lose-lose, Dunks ended up at Brisbane rather than Essendon. That's a win for everyone!
