If the rumours are true and we only had a 1 year contract offer for Kosi, that’s very interesting. To cover the growth of our others or maybe see us through to the end of next year?

Contracts are about to explode in the AFL. Could we be the first to pay a player $2m in a single season to snag a big fish? We’d absolutely have the space in 2025.

Kosi’s fair value is probably early third rounder. I don’t think many at the club would have seen him as a fixture in a future premiership side. That said some hacks like COleman Jones have gone for early seconds just for being tall. But we are not a club with a good record of negotiating better than market deals. I’d expect a third

we aren’t even done with the season yet, I don’t get why people are acting like it’s taking ages for people to make announcements. There is no hold up.
Mate Norf have been finished for weeks now- he’s known he’s leaving all year- all offers are on the table - McKay decision is taking a long time…

Got to remember 3rd rounders aren’t rated highly this year. Draft expected to have 55 -60

Richmond at least could spin that CCJ was taken high in the draft and was being held back by a premiership winning forward line. We have to spin how Kosi sometimes wasn’t getting a game ahead of Fergus Greene or Brandon Ryan.

There’s a random Instagram AFL rumors page saying that McKay has declared Essendon, but as those random accounts throw all kinds of darts you can take it with a grain of salt until something with a bit more cred lands.

Don’t know whether to believe this

When you are young you think if someone doesn’t choose you it’s the end of the world. When you grow up you realise people act in their own self interest and if they don’t choose you then you don’t want them either and it is in no way personal it’s just preference.
I am on the fence with McKay on that basis, I think our backline could use a date but I am worried about the early calls for such a long commitment I fear a mantrap coming on!

I'm disappointed that Kosi has decided to leave personally. In the last few weeks we found a role for him as a second ruck and forward option which I think worked really well. Definitely made me see a future for him as he is a confidence player.

Sam has said he's a required player so I expect us to be asking for a reasonable pick or offer given he was in our future plans. Also as a still young KP I'd expect a little extra compared to a midfielder just as history shows development is often slower for these types

Sam appeared to give him little love. Sam didn't seem to have faith in many in the forward line aside from Brooster and Lewis.

He literally can’t sign anywhere for weeks yet, it isn’t.
