Regardless of what Billing’s wants , I see no point in trading him unless we get a second round pick or something we can use to move up the draft order or to help facilitate another trade .
Yep, agree. And definitely not taking a 40s pick without confirmation we can move upwards with 40. Just helping out Melbourne.

Really don't understand the firesale if we get a crappy pick.

Suppose we will have to wait to see the pick AND what we are paying him.

42 on traded to Port for Wines

I wonder if we are perhaps looking to bundle picks #40 & #42 for something better and to help other clubs get their deals done? Also remember we got got Olli Hotton at #35 and Isaac Keeler at #44 last year. People were saying last year would be a shallow draft also and I think we did really well!

What can we realistically get for Billings is my question? I see Melbourne has pick 42, does that get it done and is it worth it?

I doubt anyone would use 42. Unless it can be bundled to move up it's just a token pick that won't be used.

I sort of get what Melbourne are thinking, is Lachie Hunter any better than Billings on a wing

Hunter turns a lot of kicks over. Billings not as got at getting the ball but better at using it.

Better be. I’ll be disappointed if we only walk out of here having lost Gresh and Billings and Coff with 13, 21 and some long range picks. Need a third decent pick in the 20s and I’ll shut up 😁

I’m sorry about reality barrels.

Can you play big footy with those oculus goggles?
That’s your take on a player who has always honoured his part of the contract. Clearly we want to move him on, his only crime was getting injured and playing through injury. So he’s made it clear he’d like a new start so what, he also has a contract which I’m sure he’s happy to honour. Don’t dump on the guys leaving the club and don’t make out the club shows them any loyalty, it’s a business on both sides these days.

As to overrated well we all get it wrong but boy what an interesting read it would be to look back at the posters who bagged Sinclair who was never going to be anything other than D grade and were pumping up longs tyres. That’s one of many examples, is there some reason we can’t just wish departing players who haven’t screwed us over good luck?.
It will be like Acres, even when Billings is playing high quality football for Melbourne, people will be still bitching about why he didn’t produce it in his last two years with us.

Will be interesting to see how Henry & Dow develop vs how Coffield, Gresham & Billings go.

Even picks past about 21 are pretty hit and miss this year. Probably more like picks in the 30s of some other drafts.

Agree. Would be an odd move to dish him off for nothing when we have plenty of cap space.
