Interesting

I would have Luko ahead of Smith and B King
yeah i get its very subjective. Luko has clearly had a better year than both these guys but overall their output has exceeded Lukos since being drafted. And they offer more upside in critical positions.

Mate, if you could choose 2 of these 3 who would you choose? For me, Luko is the one that misses

I would take Luko

I don't trust Smith's temperament which is crucial to being an elite player instead of just a quite good player

And I don't trust Ben King's body. Luko has had a better career to date than King and you can see he is ready to explode.

I think we sometimes downplay how rare Luko's skills are for his size. The kid is so talented by foot he convinced Stewart Dew he was a Quarterback HBFer for 4 years.

He's 6'5" and has a field kick that's as good or better than anyone on our list. Anyone on most lists.

ok fair enough but respectfully disagree. King kicked 47 in his third year (TT kicked 18 in his). After being cruelled by an ACL in his 4th year he still kicked 40 this year in his first year back and I expect more again next year. I would think King - assuming injuries dont recur - who IMO has a higher ceiling in a more critical position than Luko

With Smith, you are right its his headspace that is of most concern. We saw in the 2021 final series a budding superstar of the comp (didnt we love seeing him pulling Powers pants down in their home prelim that was all over 20 mins into the first with a deathly quiet crowd :) ). Whether he gets back to that level is the key but at that stage he looked like possibly the best of all the players from the 2018 super-draft

Neither have been linked currently to the Crows but either a fit and (mentally) healthy Bailey Smith OR a reformed T Thomas would be our 'missing elite midfield link'

I would personally roll the dice and go for one of them, sounds like TT most like obtainable and pick 9 should do it (according to chat on SEN in recent days). Clearly the concern is any other skeletons we arent aware of and the fact Kangas would be willing to let such a prodigious talent go leaves question marks.

But Dawson, Thomas, Pedlar, Laird, Rachele and friends suddenly is not a weakness any longer.

PS we did bid on TT in the super draft year as well didnt we?

CHECKED - yes

I dont think TT is a fair comparison. The team clearly look for Tex on the lead most of the time. King has no one else competing for goals other than Luko. I'd be happy with either. But since King is destined to go to St Kilda according the media if he does ask for a trade. He can't go anywhere else. Just St Kilda. So Luko being an SA boy wins out.

My guess is its attitude. North Melbourne's consistent shitness for the last decade would grate on a lot of players. I'd have no hesitation to back our culture in when it comes to getting some x factor in. 5 Years ago maybe not. But now sure. Young exciting list ready to take the next step.

Given our list, if we traded for Wanganeen-Milera, where would he fit in seriously atm with all our young guys we as a board, want to get games into?

On the wing.
