Welsh looks like the sort of country player who drinks 12 pints on a Friday night and then goes out on Saturday and kicks a lazy 10.

Can't wait to have this kid playing for us. Welsh, RT, Rankine and Fogarty. There's your forward line for the next decade.

Sounds like another version of Tex

Maybe wait until you see Finn O'Sullivan when fit...think Sam Walsh type but better aerially for his size. Currently rehabbing a fractured finger...Country lad from South West Victoria (Koroit).

Edit : Forgot to mention he's actually Sam Walsh's cousin and he was the U16's Nationals M.V.P.
Anything that is named Finn O' I'm taking
Finn O'C is what we needed at the crows

yeah, we are going to get our just desserts for bidding on everyone for the last 10 years with Welsh aren't we?
If the AFL got wind that we were somehow looking likely to pick him up for a steal, then they’d tinker with the F/S rules as a one off anyway.

It would be the special “first name and last name both starting with a letter in the back 8 of the alphabet” rule. Applies to 2024 only.

A solid step up for Sid who was one of SA's best in this game. He was back to somewhere near his explosive and damaging best, regularly surging away from opponents with attacking and direct play. His impact at stoppage is improving week by week and he was better able to run out the full game.

I'm putting his defensive work on watch though. He didn't look interested in chasing and his tackling pressure was non-existent.

Draper doesn’t excite me at all. He’s Brad Crouch mark 2. Knows how to find it. But his skills and decision making are below elite and he’ll be a decent/good afl midfielder in the final wash up.

Nah he has too many elite traits to not be a very good AFL player, really a very different player to Brad too.

His low possession count might suggest otherwise, but Welsh was extremely active in this game and looked on from the opening quarter. He worked hard to present an option, and typically halved marking contests that he didn't win to provide his small forwards with crumbing opportunities. He was a significant presence during a late surge by SA that saw them fall just short of a win.

Yes i noticed that when he could not mark it, he was trying to direct it to where his team mates were bringing it to ground and not letting his man relief mark.

I thought he really looked a quality player yesterday

Taren Best not read this buddy or watch the clip

At 191cm Welsh is just a mark and kick player at the moment, big turning circle, no tank, man child and not many tricks for someone undersized for key position player. Can’t play old school FF at next level. Personally wouldn’t be matching any bid inside top 20. Interesting where clubs will rate him.

B.Crouch before he had major hamstring and groin injuries (missed an entire season) wasn't just an "accumulator", he definitely loss his burst of speed after them.
