Zero Hanger has us picking Langford. as of 18 hours ago. I don't know any of these guys like so many of you, but what I do know is that we need a speedy chap, the type we haven't had since Dangerfield. I'm all for trading to 2 to get Draper. Gotta make a stand some time!
What about the highest metres gained and score involvements player this year ?

Also, a little conspiracy theory is that its in the Dees interest to feign interest in Tauru - even if they didnt want him - to stop North trading with Tiges which is the most obvious and easiest trade partner (eg 6 and 18 for 2). By Dees ensuring Tauru goes at either pick 2 (or perhaps our 4), Dees get one further midfielder up on their list
Absolutely! Dees playing it well - bluff North to bite early and get increased choice on a mid

Or they really are interested, and limit the ability of North to trade with anyone after them, increasing the chance of North taking a mid at 2 instead leaving Tauru to them, with second prize of increased mid choice as above

ok fair enough re your own view but what makes you think our team agrees with that?
I doubt we would be sniffing around pick 2 if we thought they are taking Tauru. It will be interesting to see Cals mock on Monday as he has always been 99% sure of pick 1. If Richmond take FOS instead of Lalor it will affect nearly every other pick in the top 10.

I hope you’re correct about North taking Tauru at 2, as we should stay put at 4 if that’s the case. However I’m not 100% on it, and I get the feeling our team aren’t either.
With all the contradictory news reports going around about who is into who (we were hot on Langford for the last two weeks, now cold for eg) I think the clubs at the pointy end are all waiting to see who blinks first

but Dees got the benefit? so why would Saints do that?
Because they didn’t want use that 1st round pick on Kayo … so they converted #9 into F1 and later picks in this draft

Bluffed into trading out of a SuperDraft …..i don’t believe Dedoro would have as easily been bluffed

Well Brodie Smith averaged the 3rd most metres gained for us this year. Not a knock on Langford btw, who is a really good prospect, but it doesn’t really tell the whole story. Burst from stoppage is the biggest trait that is lacking in our midfield atm, and Langford isn’t going to be that.

Hamish hell loves himself an undersized KPD, I get scared the guys won't be able to catch him before he gets the microphone

Funny thing is, with Fog and Thilthorpe, Tauru would fit like a glove into our structure with ANB, Rachele and Keays buzzing around at their feet

But I digress.....midfielder please

I think the key to this draft is if North take Tauru at 2.

It will be a lock that we get Draper at 4, as Carlton will choose either FOS or Lalor depending who the Tigers take over Draper.

sorry i meant why would SAINTS bluff when they didnt get the benefit? Dees got the benefit - so what incentive was there for Saints to help the Dees out?

we are all guessing but my gut feel is they take Draper. Thats a lot of the recent speculation. Voss flies over this week to interview for 3/4th time.

Blues need pace in midfield - the missing piece as Dow failed - and also the most immediately beneficial player

Gut feeling - if Draper is there at 3, Blues take him

Would I put money on that - yes. Would I put much money on that - well no haha

Top 11
1 - Ashcroft - Brisbane (bid matched)
2- Lalor - Richmond
3 - Taru - North Melbourne
4 FOS - Carlton
5 - Draper - Crows
6 - Smith - MElbourne
7- Smile - Richmond
8 - Langford - St Kilda
9 - Lombard - Gold Coast (bid matched)
10- Travaglia - St Kilda
11 - Armstrong - Melbourne
The Age have claimed they've spoken with 13 recruiters & list managers & come up with this order(with disclaimers on every pick, because they say it's a wide open draft):
Rich - Lalor
NM - Tauru
Carl.- Smith(that's a new twist!)
Ade. - Draper(if Draper gone they state that Crows are strong on Smith & Langford)
Melb. - Langford
Bris. - Ashcroft(surely a club is going to bid on him earlier - what is this, Queensbury Rules?!!)
Rich - Smillie
St.K - FOS (wow!! could he slip this far?)
St.K - Travaglia

And then I nodded off.

Isn’t he list manager? Surely he is wholly responsible for the list. Like the GM in an NFL team.
For the record I think ANB was worth what we paid, however players like Bailey Smith were worth a lot more than Geelong paid so it is possible. If we had tried everything to keep 25, but had to cave at the end I would have no gripe. But when people say Reid is a tough bugger then sorry, I have to disagree.
How did you feel about the Dawson deal?

About Peatling?

I think we were happy to offer 28, didn't want to **** around to get a pick a couple of spots lower, and Melbourne didn't want to fuss around to try and get something better.

So much of trade week is a waste of time, it's good to occasionally see two sides just do the obvious deal.

I understand the frustration that we never seem to get an absolute steal - like Geelong or Richmond ripping off GCS or WCE - but that doesn't mean this was a bad deal.

We're sniffing around pick 2 because North want Tauru and could get him at 4.

But if we stay at 4, there's a big chance we lose out on Draper to Carlton, and he seems to be our number one target.

Wait - they got a future first AND the picks they needed for Kako by trading pick 9?

That's not terrible at all.

Didn't C4 say Carlton have met with Draper multiple times in the last week, and the word is they're very interested?

I'd rather Draper over FOS, so I get it.
