Disagree. He's going to be elite, he's going to play midfield.

I reckon you'll change your mind with hindsight.
Tut Tut .....you disagreed with my comment on list quality, saying I was speculating .....yet you, in the next breath are saying Curtin will be elite

Aren't you doing exactly the same thing as me, speculating on players?

I'm not disagreeing with you on Curtin, simply saying you're being hypocritical .....

Perhaps just list the players on our list you think will be All Australian.

I wonder if we are now considering F1 to move from 4 to 2 and also get Kangas F2. They are likely bottom 3 and with that draw of ours am confident we make finals

So it’s sliding from say 10-12 to low 20’s next year in a pretty crappy draft from all accounts,

If we want someone bad enough - Draper is the logical one - then perhaps we do pull the trigger and back in our improved performance

Had a brief discussion on our board about this. I made the point that any of FOS, Lalor, Jagga or Draper would be a great fit for your midfield. They all have different strengths but there’s no Harley Reid standout this year. Langford is a very good player but lacks pace which is perhaps an area of your midfield that could be improved.

Another consideration might be to keep 4 and use the F1 to get a player like Dodson and a F2. Richmond’s pick 18 and F2 for example.

Nice thoughts man. Not sure our F1 would get 2 picks though (say Tiges 24 this year and F2). So many teams trying to buy back in to this draft.

Draper probably seems the natural fit to me. He has the express breakaway pace we need, SA lad so no go home factor or having to overpay to keep, crows supporter and likely captain one day.

If it ultimately means we get him and slide from a likely 10-12 In 2025 to low 20’s I think it’s worth serious consideration

All very good points. It’s hard to say but you’re right there’s a premium on picks this year in the 10-30 range. Draper is an outstanding player and leader so as long your medics stay on top of a couple of injury issues Jeffcrowe has mentioned then there’s no reason he can’t be a 200 gamer and captain. He’s got the highest floor in the entire draft.

We can’t trade back into this draft. We don’t have the list spots. It’s 4 and Welsh, that’s it

That's what they said about this year's draft this time last year. Even if Kangas finish bottom 4, their 2nd pick probably slides into the 30s with all the f/s and academy picks. That's not where we want our first pick to be, either for young talent or as a trade chip. Draper has a ton of great attributes but the others in the top 4 are more polished with their game. Not to say we shouldn't pick him at 4 - that'd be a good result - but giving up a 1st to get him over players that could well be better, isn't smart drafting.

Lol Wayne ... I never said he would be our best ever did I? And if I did - if I stated he was going to better than McLeod / Ricciuto / Goodwin / Modra I'd deserve whatever I got.

That's what got you into the corner you now find yourself in - not that you said you rated our list. (or an individual player on that list) ... but that our current untested unproven list would be the best EVER.

All I've said is that people need to give Curtin a chance to show himself before they push him onto the half back flank - he is a very high draft pick that is rated very highly by nearly everyone who has crossed his path - he is a 197cm 19 year old with 7 games under his belt.

Him being elite is not going to be a massive shock.
