And I won't be surprised if Bo Allan goes inside the top 10 though most pundits have him going to West Coast with their 1st or Freo. I think he has a lot more potential midfield upside than quite a few ranked above him. Not too many above him are close to as athletically or physically gifted as he is.
I could easily see him going to the Dees or Saints if he has passed their go home factors
I have him higher than Langford and Smillie.

Would prefer if it came from C4[2]Yo`DooR
Agreed. Obviously not sure if that Ebert poster has a good track record or not

I don’t have any mail on that, but I think it’s just a formality.

You have the picks to make it happen and a clear target in mind, so unless there is some sort of gentleman’s agreement between North/Carlton/Adelaide about who each will pick, it’s probably a smart move.

Carlton will still be left with a decision between FOS/Draper (which is an Uptown Problem).

So you reckon we are after Smith?

Jagga looks really impressive. He's my preference. But draper's fine too.
Oh Yeah Dancing GIF

Crows would do very well to pick up Smith - haven’t seen many that can work in a phone box like he can.

So many SANFL development drills now are based on moving the ball inside to outside. They work on 2-3 kids with quick hands. This boy does it by himself.

My spies also say he’s a committed 1 club player no chance of running home to mum.

Mate, always appreciate your input. When you say we have the picks can I ask what you are referring to as we have no F2 and most crows fans wouldn’t want to use F1 in any trade up.

Also, with respect, not sure about a Gentleman’s agreement this year IF Blues and Crows are both targeting Draper as widely reported in recent days. Not really in Blues interest to let anyone know who they will take esp with the crows ability to jump ahead of them by giving up future draft collateral.

That is a bit unfair
I rate Mutineer’s thoughts over so many years ( aka Bicks )
He has always been very front up on his talent ID IMO
Yeah I agree.

I think sometimes he might get a bit focussed on one player, and you might get ten Ollie Hannaford posts in two days - but he doesn't just name names so that he can have a quid each way. He very clearly says who he rates.

We can’t directly trade future picks for other future picks though can we ??!!

Like we can’t go and trade 3x future 3rds with a future 2nd from hawthorn for example can we ?!!

North would have to accept our future 3rds then later on next year trade them for a future 2nd ? if that’s What they wanted ?
I think you can, but people almost never do?

For example, for this year it'd be a three way, with

SYD: Get 2x F3, give F2
NM: Get 4 and F2, give 2
ADEL: Get 2, give 4 and 2x F3

There's still picks in the current draft involved.

Cause Carlton also might take Smith over Draper if he falls to 3, according to that HS article
It also stops someone else trading for the NM pick, or NM picking a midfielder instead of Tauru.

I think we want one of Smith, Draper and Lalor - and there's still some risk at 4 that isn't going to happen.

The 1 club player stuff matches up with what another poster (can’t remember who) said about him a while back

Maybe we have 2 tiers
Tier 1 - Smith, Lalor
Tier 2 - Draper, O'Sullivan, Langford

If we strongly believe Smith or Lalor are worth upgrading 4 for, let's just do it. I've changed my mind on it. Trading out a bit of shrap from the ash tray is not a big deal for an upgrade at the premo end of the night

Draper will be the same IMO. He goes interstate he won't be coming back any time soon
You wouldn't think it would help our case of bringing him home if he's there at our pick and we overlook him in favour of an interstate draftee.

And we walk into next years draft with just a first, fourth and fifth round.

Remember it is likely we will have to replace Tex, Smith and possibly Murphy, Strachan and one or two others. ROB, Crouch and Milera are UFAs. Schoenberg will also be an UFA now.

Unless we have a great 2025 trade/free agency period, we might be up against it to retain list depth.

We'll just go with the minimum list changes again. Tex, Smith and Burgess out, 1 draft pick and 2 rookie upgrades. We're all in on this group.
