Esp if to Blues.Draper will be the same IMO. He goes interstate he won't be coming back any time soon
Good for the lad but would love to have a pick for himFor those following the fortunes of big Jay Polkinghorne. Collingwood made the trip to Ceduna.
They think he’ll slip through to rookie draft but one of 2/3 should grab him thereGood for the lad but would love to have a pick for him
Agree with first sentenceAbsolutely! Dees playing it well - bluff North to bite early and get increased choice on a mid
Or they really are interested, and limit the ability of North to trade with anyone after them, increasing the chance of North taking a mid at 2 instead leaving Tauru to them, with second prize of increased mid choice as above
I think Schoenberg and Strachan are likely to be moved on next year too. We'll just go with the minimum list changes again. Tex, Smith and Burgess out, 1 draft pick and 2 rookie upgrades. We're all in on this group.
We won’t mess this one upIt just looks like such a can't miss an A grade midfielder draft with our pick that we have to be thinking of doing something unexpected. How can we lose choosing between FOS, Draper and Smith? Stay tuned folks.
Speed - above averageMy only worry with J Smith is that it sounds like he is an accumulator but questions marks over hurt factor and speed? Like a mini Mrouch?
Sounds like would be a good get but not sure if that exactly the type of mid we need?
His tape is remarkably similar to Butters as a junior. Hits the stoppage at speed and then has amazing lateral movement and awareness to stay untouched, then makes very good decisions with disposal. His kick is fine but certainly not a weapon, again probably Butters being the good comparison. I personally don’t think he’s anything like Crouch, his agility and lateral movement in close is more like Rankine probably, but without the freakish goal sense that Isaac has. He will very quickly become a crowd favorite with his sublime awareness of pressure around him and the sheer numbers he’ll rack up.My only worry with J Smith is that it sounds like he is an accumulator but questions marks over hurt factor and speed? I think it’s crap. Every year we say how tight the Crows list mgt team is re absolute secrecy for players wanted in the draft. If Jagga Smith was available at and Draper and FOS were already selected than take Smith
Not convinced about trading up to pick to take Jagga Smith
Smith looks the safe bet of the draft but I think our midfield needs more explosive punch factor- that’s why I prefer Draper or FOS

DacosButters
Or maybe if Rich don't take Lalor...Btw HS article says North only wants 4 and a F2 for 2, so if Smith’s our guy and we can wrangle up a second with our F3’s, I think it gets done
Think it can ... but deal needs to be worked out / agreed to in advance. Not sure you can
Need to find out
Is this a joke? He's talking about Peter.
Death by 1000 cuts, he can hurt you in different ways. His tape is remarkably similar to Butters as a junior. Definately has massive hurt factor.
Can you ask for an extension?Think it can ... but deal needs to be worked out / agreed to in advance.
Once a club has to make a pick on draft night, they have something like 5 mins before it (live trading) all has to be done ..... and the more complex a deal (eg 3-club deals), the more risk it fails.
All subject to future trade constraints (able to future trade; full basket of either F1 or F2,F3,... picks; can't trade pick back if pick originally came from same club; ...?)
It was the perfect draft for Nicks to "tank" lol. We were worry the Saints would finish below us with the outlandish Band 1 FA compensation for Battle and rightly so.It just looks like such a can't miss an A grade midfielder draft with our pick that we have to be thinking of doing something unexpected. How can we lose choosing between FOS, Draper and Smith? Stay tuned folks.
