Jagga never wastes a disposal
Conservatively went at 85% DE this year

How many times have we bemoaned the fact we kick straight to intercept markers , having Jagga improves this straight up

Even the way he links in other players with handball can help get the ball over congestion

It also stops someone else trading for the NM pick, or NM picking a midfielder instead of Tauru.

I think we want one of Smith, Draper and Lalor - and there's still some risk at 4 that isn't going to happen.
Is it a risk if Roos keep pick #2 & are committed to Tauru?

1 of them likely falls to us.

The 1 club player stuff matches up with what another poster (can’t remember who) said about him a while back
Some players may appear to be more 1 club players on the surface, but no one really knows as circumstances can always change.

Agreed. Most people would think they're going to be one club players initially

Jagga Smith's apparent lack of "hurt factor" sounds like BS to me. It remains to be seen if he gets to those heights but look at Nick Daicos, the player who Jagga models himself on as well, his 2021 Rookie Me Central draft profile stated "impact per kick" as a weakness and we all know how damaging that kid is.

Players who weave themselves out of congestion and get a 1-2 posession chain out of stoppage are worth their weight in gold...
He also apparently took on board the "lack of hurt" feedback from coaches and worked on this for a noticeable difference by year end.

Suspect that's something he could continue to work on this in a professional environment.

I am usually someone who loves to chime in with the "doesn't do much with it though" when a draft prospect is an accumulator. But in this case I think Jagga bucks this trend enough and has the skills to be more damaging if required. Great chance to add a solid midfielder with some stoppage craft a little more comprehensive than handballing backwards, booting it long or telegraphing a left foot kick (no offence Daws).

Here's my plan

Trade with NM for Pick 2

Then stun them by selecting Tauru

North panic. Offer them our F1 + Butts for Pick 4

Can you trade players on the night? Oh... damn. Scratch all that
As long as we get some special teams help, you pancake eating mother****er

Any talk of Jagga having lack of hurt factor is rubbish. He makes smart decisions and his team retain possession. That to me is hurt factor

I think people confuse speed and power with hurt factor.

Give me a footballer with decent speed and great footy brain rather than a lightning runner who turns it over.

I’d be more than happy with Jagga Smith

Looks a 200 gamer

Watching him I get he is similar to say Adam Treloar

Is this a joke? He's talking about Peter.
Have I ever told the story about my friend who went to a grand final party in 1992? They were allocated a player from each team. Had to have a drink for each possession, and finish an entire drink for each goal.

He drew Peter Matera and Gary Ablett.

So he doesn’t just blindly handball to a flat footed ruckman with an opponent hanging off him? Would make a nice change from our current mids.

The club still thinks Draper is likely to be there at 4 , probably a 70-75% chance.

But if they can get up to 2 for a relatively cheap price, then it’s worth it to have that guarantee.

Jagga Smith is our plan B, if the trade doesn’t happen and Draper is gone.

Do we really think Carlton are gonna pass over FOS the whole reason they moved up to 3, the best mate of Harley Reid and Sam Walsh's cousin to draft Draper??

Again, just media speculation.

If I’m in the media, I’m suggesting Carlton desperately wanted to move ahead of us to grab Draper.
