The discussion was the early picks for the last 4 draft?
No, started by saying our early drafting hasn’t been good so we might as well stay at 4 and get who comes through. Was then twisted by apologists because the last 4 years look better than the wasteland of the 6 years before that.

If the wing isn’t the midfield, is it defence or the forward line?
OK I've been on the record for over 18 months now who I think the best player in this draft will be, long long before Sam Lalor was spoken about as a pick 1 possibility, let's have yours?

Wonder if there's been any rumours of bLoos doing a 2-3 pick swap with North?

That would let bLoos definitely get ahead of us if we're after the same player, or should Rich pull a surprise and not take Lalor (assuming North wouldn't take LAlor)
I thought of that but haven’t they already given up 2 x firsts to get pick 3? So they can’t trade away a F2 either (assuming they only have one)

IF crows can conjure up a F2 with our third rounders OR Kangas accept these third rounders (2 or 3) which is clearly unders I doubt Blues can and would want to beat that to move one position.

This year will tell us a lot.

TT - still hasn't proven himself worthy of pick 2, but I'm quietly confident he's going to explode this year.
Rachele - looks like an overpay, but that could turn around if he becomes a 20+ and 1.5 goal forward/mid
Rankine - worth 5 every day as a mid. I'd have preferred we played hard ball and got a second back, which could have kept getting pushed forward and would be handy in our hands right now. Remember this is a club that sent 7 with a salary dump in the same year we gave them 5 for Izaak.
Curtin - too early, but I'm confident he'll be worth every part of the pick we paid.

What will hold back our rebuild is the years prior. Only Fog looks like being value at the pick.
Yep, that’s fair but agree TT is looking elite and also believe Rachele has got what it takes to be an A grader.

Clearly prior to the 2020 year it was a shit show for a few hrs overall

Yes yes, we’re all very proud of you.

You asked me for my top 10 last week and I gave it to you.
So remind me again who do you think is potentially going to be the best player of this draft?

One you see above all others.

bLoos seem to only have this year's pick 38 they could offer.

Lore's draft trackers ... 2024 ... 2025

Have they committed taking the Campo twins?

Could get interesting if a bid comes in earlier than they anticipate?

There was only a couple of decent players selected after Jones and none after McHenry. The 2018 draft wasn't deep at all.

Those picks in the 20s aren't early picks. Their role player picks, and are a flip of the coin.

Gallucci wasn't a particularly early pick - though it's massively frustrating that we were about the only club that missed out in that range, because it was a really deep draft.
Bobby Hill and James Rowbottom came just after McHenry. We even traded the Pick GWS used to select Hill

One of many examples why we should never let the coach overrule the recruiting manager, when it comes to making selections.
Exactly poor old Captain is either forgetting or not even understanding the decision making process that year where Hamish wanted English.

We needed a mid.

It's disappointing Rachele isn't there yet as a mid, maybe this year. Can't put that on the recruiting team.
We didn't draft him because we needed a mid. He was the best small forward in the draft.
In his draft profile it said that he was keen to play more midfield time, but also that he needed a lot more consistency and consistency of effort to succeed there, includng developing a tank.

Not very much has changed!
