Actually next year a 2025 1st will be more compromised because of F/S picks and Academy players.
Yes understood but still the same amount of non FS/NGA players available. They will just be drafted later. It’s also a weaker draft from all accounts,

I was just basically saying we have all future firsts whilst Power often spend early (Cats Rat last year and now Luko this year)

Yes good point re NWM as will likely cost 2 x firsts with perhaps a second coming back
Personally I dont think NWM should be worth two 1sts. Those kind of trades are reserved for the best elite players.

We should be offering our 2025 1st or 2026 1st. Not both.

What team is Lombard going to?

If it is Draper, will be nice having a SA boy who we aren’t at risk of losing unless we **** up.

Dawson, Rankine, Draper, 3 quality SA mids
What excites me about Draper is we would be genuinely quick next year , can’t remember us ever being fast

Bit about him that doesn’t excite me too , but overall he’s a good pick if it falls that way

Imagine that speed of ball movement now in the midfield going into our forward line. :rainbow:

Well, the only thing left now is to discuss whether we will take Draper or Langford, and why.
I cant imagine a world where the Crows overlook Draper at 4 if he is still there and take Langford.

Mind you Bigfooty melts on here would be funny.

So trade unlikely, and probably a 75/25 split we take Draper/Langford, respectively

It just makes too much sense to pick Draper I think, has a clear strength we lack, has performed against men in the SANFL, and if he ends up good, should be a one-club player

I can see Draper becoming a whipping boy if he doesn’t improve his disposal and propensity to panic with ball in hand. Upside/potential is there. And looks like a leader. So I suppose we’ll take the good with the bad.

Guys like Peatling, Cumming and Rankine delivering the pill should help mask that a bit
Yeah this. Plus Dawson, Soligo and Taylor. A lot of the gun mids of the comp aren’t great kicks. We’ve slowly built a skilful midfield. Need that gun mid that can reliably win the ball and feed them for the next decade.

Be nice to see him getting the second touch, and then getting to outside with pace. Doesn’t seem like the guy you want having the first, most-pressured possession.
