Beat me to it lolIt's why I see him more as a wingman at AFL level. Will need to learn to run to good spots and be a link man.
He can run all day, so I’m sure this won’t be a problem for him

It seems like Carlton will pick one of them. We just take whichever one is left.I keep swapping between Smith and Draper for the same reasons. Today, Smith is my preference.
mate, promise this is the last time I will ask...how confident are you that if Smith and/or FOS are on the board at your pick - along with our boy Sid - that you will NOT pick Draper? 50% confident? 80%? 99.9%?Because Smith won’t be available at 4*
*unless North goes the unconventional route and reaches for Tauru at 2, but even then there’s a chance Smith is picked over FOS at 3.
Why though? to me getting the 2nd choice in a generational draft would be a huge advantage.
Edit: Twomey said its unlikely now so pick 4 it is.

I just feel Draper fits your midfield more with his express pace and Walsh and Smith are relatively similar players IMHO
No it’s cryptic for doing a CarltonIs that cryptic for whats called 'doing a Geelong'?
I have already recently emailed Reidy (Crows list boss) and said to be aware of Blues taking Draper at 3 so I have done my part haha. Will be a fascinating nightI’m confident in what I’m hearing in that the club likes Smith.
Having said that, our head recruiter’s (Mick Agresta) eyes lit up little when describing Draper just now on Gettable. Probably reading too much into that.
I personally like Draper and think he would compliment our contested midfield nicely, I keep changing my mind each day, but I’m certain the club likes Smith (although FOS vs Smith in less certain about tbh).
Reid seems like the kind of guy that would have 1000+ unread emails showing on his mail icon, and would always get reminder pop ups from past events that he just constantly snoozed every everytime in his calendar.I have already recently emailed Reidy (Crows list boss) and said to be aware of Blues taking Draper at 3 so I have done my part haha. perhaps - he has always responded previously to my messages (10+ in recent years) with only one exceptionReid seems like the kind of guy that would have 1000+ unread emails showing on his mail icon, and would always get reminder pop ups from past events that he just constantly snoozed every everytime in his calendar.
I’m exactly the same, today I’m also Smith.I keep swapping between Smith and Draper for the same reasons. Today, Smith is my preference.
I wonder how many weeks it took him to realise Smith triggered another year on his contract...Reid seems like the kind of guy that would have 1000+ unread emails showing on his mail icon, and would always get reminder pop ups from past events that he just constantly snoozed every everytime in his calendar.
The big problem with that is it's more than likely the recruiting team don't see it that way. Draft pundits see it as even but I bet the recruiters don't see it that way and will have them all ranked in order. It’s not an advantage if the players in that area are all rated similarly for talent. If we had 2, it would be an advantage to trade back to 4 as we’d get a player rated the same as 2 and a free extra pick.
Oh no, surely you didn’t?I have already recently emailed Reidy (Crows list boss) and said to be aware of Blues taking Draper at 3 so I have done my part haha. Will be a fascinating night
119others now this would be a good email, ask him how he felt about Nicks getting Smith to his trigger, we have no list spots so we had trade 45 in a strong draft to next year.I wonder how many weeks it took him to realise Smith triggered another year on his contract...
This has got to be one of the biggest fallacy’s on here IMOEspecially at AFL level where his lack of pace will have him kicking under pressure all the time. I love him but gee he does look slow.
I will say with the Bont/Cripps comparisons - Bont’s not fast, but he’s incredibly agile, while Cripps just has absolute brute strength and Goliath size. I don’t see Langford really having either of those as a plus at AFL levelThis has got to be one of the biggest fallacy’s on here IMO
Some of the best midfielders in comp are worse runners than him when you consider how elite his endurance and end to end running will be and they are similar speed to him
This is exactly same reason Cripps drifted and people were unsure on the Bont etc
Not saying he will be as good as these guys but his speed won’t stop him being a midfielder at afl level
Blokes a gun and hence Melbourne will snap him up at pick 5 if we pass on him
Have him and Draper very even , they both have different strengths and weaknesses
Your call... but you are in the minority.I think Langford is the best of the lot. The melts will come from the FB happy clappers who just assume Draper is the one because he’s local.
I will let you send that one old mate...not sure he would appreciate being reminded of it esp with Smiths form falling in a heap at the end of the year.119others now this would be a good email, ask him how he felt about Nicks getting Smith to his trigger, we have no list spots so we had trade 45 in a strong draft to next year.
Hes 18, hes not going to be a brute yet, but he does have a very neat sidestep.I will say with the Bont/Cripps comparisons - Bont’s not fast, but he’s incredibly agile, while Cripps just has absolute brute strength and Goliath size. But I know we’ll never see eye to eye on him don’t get me wrong, I think he can be a good player, just not sure he has the potential of the ‘elite’ mid that we lack
Not convinced re: the sidestep, it looks a little clunky to meHes 18, hes not going to be a brute yet, but he does have a very neat sidestep.
Yeah this wording is confusing“We will probably use two picks, (and) we’ve got enough points out the back to hopefully cover and bring Tyler (Welsh) in as well,” Ogilvie said.
...
Pick 60 might be live? Or trade back in?
Langford does look a lot slower than Bont or Crips though. He has developed a real habit of moving sideways and sweeping behind to counter this, much as Matt Crouch did really. Those other 2 both still broke forward from stoppage. This has got to be one of the biggest fallacy’s on here IMO

Hamish is always good for accidentally leaking our intentions in interviews.Yeah this wording is confusing
Does the two picks include Welsh? Or are we not re-drafting Schoenberg or Burgess?
