Maybe not tonight, but last night, while Armstrong and Whitlock were still on the board (plus some of the others who are still available), our F1 + whatever wouldve been fair. Doesnt even sound like we were trying which again, is disappointing.

There would have been no value in that trade.

If Norf were on the phones for every selection past pick 8 and still couldn't get it done then we never stood a chance.

Who knows if we asked or not. I'd suspect yes, but it wouldn't even make the news if we did.

Norf were the story, plus the actual draft itself of course.

I'm very conservative with trading F1s. All it takes is a couple of close losses, an injury to a Cameron or a Holmes, and our F1 is a top 10 pick. I don't know if Armstrong or Shanahan are worth taking that risk for.

Really not happy how we've sat around and done nothing while some genuine talent has slipped so low.
We may use an F2 and get back I'm and land someone good. Also have a look at what Kangas coughed up for P27, we don't really have the currency.

Considering that last night North put their F1 on the table for all teams to trade for from pick 8 onwards and it took until Richmond's pick 27 for a team to bite, what exactly do you think we had to offer that a team may have been interested in?

If teams were comfortably turning down a future top 10 if not top 5 pick, there's no way they were trading for a future pick that's likely to be in the teens

Fair enough, i disagree, one would be very handy in a few years time once Cameron has gone.

Eagles getting Allan and Shanahan is elite from them.
I had them ranked 7 and 11 on my board.

Really?
I don't see the hype in Shanahan. No outstanding qualities from an athletic point of view. He looks a decent size and nice kicking technique but looks like another Dan McStay type.
Armstrong was the one I would have loved us to get. He looks to have a lot more scope for development.
