We shouldn't have to flip a Future second to make up for our own terrible recruiting the previous day.

If we flip our f2 for your key forward we suit all needs

I’d take Kennedy at the next pick if we don’t.

I don't mind the Bowman selection on the role he plays i just think we could have gotten that role later in the draft and Shanahan was there for the taking.

Thinking about it for a second they must have real high hopes for Chamberlain and King if they aren't going for a key forward

…. Or we, like 17 other clubs, didn’t rate the key forwards enough to use a high pick on them.

There is another 15 players at least who are very good left

Of that group I like

Gerryn Moarz Sims

Angus Clarke (I think)Hugo Boxall Riak Andrews

Hamish Davis another one or two

I really hope our current next pick of 41 is not used on Cochrane

I would love to see if we can do a swap with GWS at 36 and move up

Who knows who will be left at pick 40 with some of the bolters.

I'd have said Davis, Clarke, Boxshall, Sims would all be gone, but who knows.

and yet we continue to lose the clearances in the big games, where the opposition gets the ball our easily and delivers the ball into their forward line very cleanly. For years Longmire refused to even play Mills and Heeney in the forward line, Rowbottom is more of a inside mid who also tags and Warner does better when he is the first player handballed to in the centre, rather than the player who gets the ball in the centre.
Our centre clearance work was far better when "I'm sorry to say" Hewitt was a part of it.

Not a coincidence both players offer something overhead

Which is what I've been raging on

Adding that marking ability to the squad will have a roll on effect

There's a method here imo
They'll embarrass McDonald into taking a contested grab before round 15 this year?

The key forwards could go early you’d assume Port take one of them

Interesting how wrong the experts have been about where they belong.
I'm happy about Dattoli but was hoping to see Jack Whitlock come up for our second.
Would have liked Davis for our third but taking Bowman will most likely scuttle that so expect to call a mid. Finish with Cochran.

We'll at least take Cochran late to add to the key depth. Wonder how Snell and Edwards will fare next year. There's quite an age gap between those two and our starters. Certainly a bit worrying when also looking out our depth.

Still pretty bullish on Snell, highly rated within the inner sanctum IIRC via Beatson.
SNEDWARDS have got me, frankly, very toey.

I'm extremely optimistic about them, particularly Snell. He is built like a brick shithouse.

As I said the other day, I do have this sneaking suspicion we might try him as a key forward though. Hope not.

Mod Notice:

If you have an issue with the either selection have the curtesy to not stink up the kids first AFL thread. That's what this thread is for.

Also note, these kids will likely be reading these threads at some point over the next few days.

What people say online can hurt and you're not being tough insulting the player.

52 will be used on Cochran we wont use the last two picks.

Looking at his highlights he gives me Hayward vibes and also that Brisbane kid that killed us in the first qtr of the Grand Final.

He might be a really nice pick in hindsight. Yes, we need talls. But we also need some decent FWD depth as we basically had nobody in the 2's other than Wicks!

Bowman is attempt at Heeney replacement more than Hayward

Unless my memory fails me, I cannot remember a successful top 20 KPD pick for swans since 2000
We haven't picked a KPD since 2000, except Snell. All of our defenders have either come from the forward line or were Half Backs, Rampe & Melican. Teddy Richards was a forward, so was Reg. In fact, Richards asked to be played back & when he came to us he was as soft as a Jelly. But after some problems he blossomed in the back end of 2011. Which settled a huge problem for Horse Who would play CHB. He could have used LRT down there but he wanted LRT to play a more flexible role & both Teddy & Reggie were doing so bloody well.

Is anyone insulting the players?

Surely, we're able to say that certain roles weren't needed or that we think there's better options in a role?

I couldn't agree more Bonz. I'm sure they will be browsing this thread and reading these comments. On an entirely unrelated note, if anyone who can suddenly afford it felt like paying for a trip to the Maldives for me, I would be super appreciative.
