I couldn't agree more Bonz. I'm sure they will be browsing this thread and reading these comments. On an entirely unrelated note, if anyone who can suddenly afford it felt like paying for a trip to the Maldives for me, I would be super appreciative. Also note, these kids will likely be reading these threads at some point over the next few days.
What people say online can hurt and you're not being tough insulting the player.
Why do you bother , you seem to hate everything about the club !They'll embarrass McDonald into taking a contested grab before round 15 this year?

They were picks in the early 20sThey were both first rounders that we reached for.
Not sure about that. Size and strength aren't there yet, whereas Heeney was in amongst it from day 1.Bowman is attempt at Heeney replacement more than Hayward
They will be educated to stay well away from social media well hopefully
Watch neither of them do anything of note ever againBut Rayner and Ah Chee's strength one-on-one definitely hurt us. They had 2 contested marks each and if you have 2 players doing that on top of your key forwards it will create massive headaches for opposition defences. Ah Chee was arguably the best player of the finals series.
Me with the mirror every morningbut I looked and regretted it.
About a third of our first rounders on the last fifteen years have been outside the first round of a pure draft.
Education is one thing, execution is another.
I honestly should have known better after a few of my overseas competitions this year and my Australian but I looked and regretted it.

Not sure Dattoli is a pressure option, more a skinny creative type. Getting someone like Gross would have been a better bet.I have a feeling Ned will be a fan favourite before too long.
Guys like him are just fun to watch.
The more I consider it, the more pleased I am with our selections.
We’ve brought in forward half pressure and spark.
Thank Christ for thatThese draft picks won’t define us.

Outside of footy, Dattoli is a boxer. Not sure Dattoli is a pressure option, more a skinny creative type. Getting someone like Gross would have been a better bet.
Bowman might have some highlights, but I feared we were already trying to be more of a highlights team than a combative, consistent side.
Well I've read he's not much of a tackler, his contested side isn't really mentioned anywhere and he's been compared to a Rachele type.Outside of footy, Dattoli is a boxer.
He’s said to be an EXTREMELY tough, combative type.
Oh no fencing?
Hahaha nah I think Rayner is going to be a force to be reckoned with from here. I reckon he will be AA next year. Cal Ah Chee has been a reliable contributor that stands up in big games since he worked his way into the Lions 22 last year.Watch neither of them do anything of note ever again
Same size speed and staminaNot sure about that. Size and strength aren't there yet, whereas Heeney was in amongst it from day 1.
But has very bad taste in music. No one is perfect!I still think you're beautiful
Not being a smart-arse, but I feel like you might've answered your own question in a way. While I like Jesse D
Players like and his position can be found easily or far easier in the later stages of draft or Rookie draft Eg papley
How many good key forwards can be found in later stages of draft or rookie draft ?
Only one I think off is larkey
Even if Armstrong fails
He makes sense as pick considering everything
Rusty goes BANGGGGBut has very bad taste in music. No one is perfect!
Armstrong family so happy he didn't go to St Scum. Not being a smart-arse, but I feel like you might've answered your own question in a way.
"How many good key forwards can be found in later stages of draft"......"Even if Armstrong fails."
Maybe we didn't think Armstrong was good, and weren't very convinced that he wouldn't fail?
If we picked him and he did fail, then it's something of a wasted pick. We'd have used a first round pick on a Joel Amartey (sorry Joel!)
Instead we have used a first round pick on someone we think could be a Papley. I'm actually really OK with that.
