13 for 16 and 21 is a no brainer for me.
Add 29 and 36 as our next two picks and we should do ok.

Pick 50 to be used as a bid match for Barrett or Burgoyne. If neither are required to be matched, keep it for the pre season supplemental Draft.

Need a KPF/ruck, a KPD, a big bodied mid, plus a mid who can go forward and impact the scoreboard.
Question - why would you not use pick 50 in the ND and take it in the supplement draft?

We would be passing on talents like West, Urquhart, Dennis etc

I'm thinking if Port actually like Welsh they'll bid earlier if we trade down

He leads well has strong hands. I rate him and would like him on our list.

Think the Crows match anything because it would be embarrassing if they didn't and he turned out OK.
Crows absolutely got Welsh to tank this year. He is definitely first round quality. I hope some team has their eyes open to this and doesn’t let them get him so cheap without an early bid.

Do you just pick the best available with 13 and then fill needs with the other 3 picks?

Ultimately, I hope 13 is playing round 1. It’s always been exciting and energised the team when we’ve debuted first year players round 1. Thinking back to Wingard 2012, Wines 2013, butters rozee and duursma 2019, georgiades 2020 all great days and great wins

Reid could play a role early on a forward flank but long term I’m not sure partnering Rozee and Butters with a smaller mid is a great use of a first round pick.
I think the opposite end tbh, put Reid in Houston's position. Handball and Kicking is elite. Speed wise kind of the same. Not as prolific overhead as Houston but yeah otherwise, I think if you give him full license to kick the ball like we gave Houston he could fill that gap very well.

If we select a HBF with our 1st selection the club needs to go into administration & sold off to China for spare parts.

I could cope with a genuine wingman, but if there isn't a gun mid, go tall

Welsh has talent and he could be a weapon close to goal, but at the moment hes a pretty one dimensional lead-mark-kick old school full forward type.

He was fat at the Combine. Did look pretty fit when playing.View attachment 2159911

A reminder vs Port sanfl.

Got a Will Gould like frame, people thought he could slot straight in to any side due to his size but he just never come on. Mitch Harvey another. Could become a star at AFL level like the man child Tom Hawkins but being a solid SANFL player could easily be his ceiling too.

Darcy Fog 2.0

Going to be interesting to see how the two of these lads work and develop together.

Fogarty and Thilthorpe look like they could be a a formidable duo up forward. Not sure how old man Tex holds up but you'd think he is very close to the edge of the cliff, so maybe Welsh gets some games. Not sure where they were planning to fit in Luko.
