Shannahan can play back and has the potential to be a better option than Georgiades and Lukosius for the “kick it on top of Charlie’s head” replacement. He would do an apprenticeship at CHB at SANFL level.
I'm hoping that Kenny without a bombing target in Dixon over the course of the off season will be in communication with Chadler and hopefully they've devised a new forward line structure that will enhance the playing styles of Mitch and J-Luk but I'm also hoping that Dua Lipa spends the night.

The Dua Lipa reference is for the young people because Elle MacPherson is too old a reference. Bloody kids.

I would love Shanahan and not be thrilled with Whitlock.
The Whitlocks look like they'll need time and then may not even make it. Skinny talls that lack body strength don't usually make it in the AFL. Hipwood and Max King are OK but someone a tad shorter with more intensity like Shanahan is preferrable. Having said all this I think our need for a tall is more in the backline. Aliir is 30, BZT is more a lockdown defender and Ratugolea has not settled into a KD. Beyond those 3 there is only the inexperienced Walsh.
Best skilled, nippy, footy smart forward/mid is my preference (Reid, Hotton or Berry) with our first pick. Then pick an athletic KD in the second round.

If we go Shanahan with 13, then I'd go Hannaford/Gross at 29, Clarke at 36 and Dennis at 50. Gives us a bit in every position we need

If “can play at both ends” appears anywhere in a bio, I wouldn’t go anywhere near them. Probably the biggest red flag there is for kpp draftees
SNAPSHOT: “An mobile key position player with vice-like hands and the ability to hit the scoreboard when presenting strongly up forward, with further capabilities to play down back and in the midfield.” – Adrian Dixon

Hugh Jackson might be utilised as a winger at AFL level if Boak's injured.
In the SANFL played as an inside mid but that role is taken at AFL level. It might be his only way getting a shot at breaking into the AFL team.

[emoji[emoji6][emoji6]][emoji6] will be his make or break season.

Having said that, our sanfl side was lite on for midfielders. I’d be taking the best mid with our first pick.

I don't hate Jack Whitlock as a pick. I'd prefer others of course, but he has the potential to be a genuine jet and would work with our forward profile nicely, as well as being backup ruck.
He's more of a Marshall type. Mobile, skinny tall forward. Lukosius and Finlayson are also that lighter framed mobile tall. For balance, if we go for a tall forward, in my opinion, it needs to be a more physical, pack buster who also has skills with his kicking and good hands. Lord was projecting as that physical, pack buster but his progress stalled this season.

Since GFs returned to the MCG (last 3 years) the winners have had 9 goals kicked by key forwards and 23 kicked by small/medium forwards-
Player type that outnumbers kfs something like 3/1 to 7/1 score more goals

Hardly a surprise.
Recently, maybe Logan Mcdonald. He reminds me of a young Tom Lynch though. Attacks the ball hard, can mark at its highest point at speed, is good below his knees, good set shot kick. Its his attack at the ball and his ability to take contested marks which is what does it for me.
What's his ability like to get to contests ( and I’m not just talking about engine, some players just don’t know how to be where the ball is)
Interesting that St Kilda passed on Soldo and would rather give Boyd from Norwood a crack.

Also I’m surprised there is not more talk of us going for a winger. Bergman got shifted back, Burgoyne played his best game at half back. We’ve got Boak playing on the outside. We recently lost Duursma, Amon and Bonner. Lorenz is the only backup we got.
Sinn

We’re also going to be rotating mids through the wing no doubt as well.
