More like there's no way Gray looks at Reid and Dattoli and then goes I'll have WhitlockDoes Gray not rate Whitlock?
Well, you know what they say, life is a highway.Im stumped if we pick Tom Cochrane as our rookie thats a bit left field.
Pace/aerobic capacity
Playing in a weaker comp.
That said I'll have him at Port.
He looks fast. He might have endurance issues but has been playing as a ruck, whereas at afl level it would be forward/ruck. He looks a bit like a lad...he's a serious unit with skills and he is physical.
no chance mate...Smillie would be incredible. His highlights package is amazing for a 194cm player. Clean handling, highly skilled kick long or short, pack marking, tackling and agility. He would easily cover in defence or attack while not on the ball. Unfortunately I don't think he'll be there for our pick, although one credible phantom draft had him slipping to us.
Guess we'll just have to drive it all night long on Thursday then.Well, you know what they say, life is a highway.
no chance mate...
Smillie wont get past richmond's second pick (#6)
agree with you, his highlight package is something special.
I get your point, it's not a deal breaker but also can't completely ignore that he got silver service at Sandy.I think the "look at his delivery argument" for Armstrong is pretty mute
His Haileybury form was what you would expect for someone of his calibre. His ability to adjust his body late in lead/pre contested mark fly is a skill (negative hat shows its a flaw in reading the ball coming in but I think that's coachable and it's more him going at 110% when he doesn't need to rather than a reading of the flight issue)
I will be happy with either Shanahan or Armstrong at the first pick but I am twice as confident in Armstrong developing here considering this port regime that has developed Marshall and Westhoff and that's it as tall forwards in the last 15 years

Armstrong for me is a bit similar to what we have in Luko and Mitch. I think Shanahan gives a point of difference.
It's been funny reading the main draft rumours thread, people seem to be trying to talk themselves out of Smillie lately.
I do agree with you BTW, I expect him to go well inside the top 10.
Where did you hear this?Lot of interest in 13 apparently. Good chance we get 29 and 36 upgraded, no idea if it costs us futures as well though

No idea how true this is, but the equation is quite simple for me. Couldn't be clearer. Reid or Shanahan or trade.Lot of interest in 13 apparently. Good chance we get 29 and 36 upgraded, no idea if it costs us futures as well though
Interesting (re Gerryn) because I have him as not draftable. How is gerryn not in the top 30? He looks to have all the tools to be an afl kpf/ruck.
Watched a lot of his games and think you might've picked a bad one to watch hahaInteresting (re Gerryn) because I have him as not draftable.
To be fair to him I have only watched one game.
I watch him and project him to be very good local footballer. I struggle to se him making WAFL level no matter AFL. I would be happy to leave him in the pool and see if he can prove me wrong next year playing against men.
He looks to be a lumbering big man, to slow for defence, not strong enough overhead for a key forward and to short to ruck.
He does not appear to be able to read the play and relies on the ball being kicked to him. Also fumbles more than I want.
I look at him and want him to be good but that is not what I saw.
Hes a Scott Lycett clone, not a good ruck, not a good forwardInteresting (re Gerryn) because I have him as not draftable.
