He's got a twin brother mate
Would be REAL awkward if Norf picked the wrong Whitlock and this lad becomes a star instead.
You never know someone else might have also taken him but seems unlikely was a strange choice both that high but also given who else they had already taken. As much as North have taken a risk what about GWS. Could't they have traded with north for pick 24 if they were going to get a future 1st and then taken then draft bolter Cody Angove with their pick in the 30s? They are going to trade that pick out anyway.
It’s quite amazing to think that they actually had priority picks given to them for this year and won two games for the entirety of the season and then they go trade away a first round pick which is almost certainly going to be a top 3 pick.Dear Shinbeggers F.C, just fold.
I've got an inkling we wont go for a KPF. Call it a hunch. Up until now I was all for players like Gerreyn or Nicholls or Sims but something is telling me we'll take best available - not positional.Sit tight and take best available KPF. Keep the F1 for next year and pray Carlton shit the bed.

Look at it this way, we're in the premiership window and we want a KPF that will make an impact within the next two years, that wont be a new player. Besides, we have Lewis to come back and both Ramma and Scaife who have both already had senior experience.
We need back-up midfield run so I'm starting to think it'll be Moraes/Ough etc.
If they come bottom 3 next year, watch them put their hand out for a pick 1 priority pickIt’s quite amazing to think that they actually had priority picks given to them for this year and won two games for the entirety of the season and then they go trade away a first round pick which is almost certainly going to be a top 3 pick.
Adelaide finished 3rd last with 8 wins in 2024.
If they come out this not looking like complete clowns I’ll be surprised.
I had a quick read over there and FMD you're not wrong! They're a delusional bunch, half of them will think this a pick in the 10-12 range.
To be honest I’m sick of North being shit I want to see them improve.
If more than half of the Richmond kids come good next year, I can easily see them sneaking out one more win than Norf.
There's a middle ground between glazing it and downplaying it. Based on what we know about these players now? Before they've played a single AFL game? C'mon now. They've done well to maximise their draft hand knowing that so many of their peak age players wanted out, and that deal with North was gold, but it's perfectly reasonable to want to see how these kids go before proclaiming a dynasty.Richmond killed it.
Based on what we know about these players now, they've done exceptionally well.
Anyone downplaying their draft haul on day one is being a hater.

With expansion clubs we've seen massive commitments in single drafts and it hasn't exactly yielded a lot of success. The problem with committing this much to one draft is that you're making a tonne of list decisions where every player is an unknown, you can't wait and see how they go and then adjust and pick differently the next year. You also don't know how badly it might affect them playing in a team that could be as abjectly bad as Richmond could.
Can't see Port or Freo going after Whitlock, they both have decent KPF stocks, It's between Saints and us IMO. We really only need a key tall who can be either the number 1 or 2 main forward and a mid with pace who can break lines. Hopefully Anderson can be that sort of player in time. If we get a Shanahan or a Sims we will be very happy with that outcomeHow about we try trading F1 to the Dogs for 29? They have a F3. Dogs don't need KPFs.
I think Richmond would be nuts to pick Shanahan/Whitlock after going Faull & Armstrong already.
Which leaves WCE, Saints, Port, and Freo as the only realistic threats for Shanahan/Whitlock.
Heck if we could use 33 + F2 for 29 (idk if this is possible or not), that would be a STEAL.
