Honestly, selecting an academy player from another club, of whom the host club don't want to match, to me says a lot about that player. The clubs have had a great look at the kid, don't think that much of him and so don't match, then that says a lot about how bad the selection really is from the other team, clearly over paying substantially and ignorant of the players exact quality.

Georgiadis, Aliir, and to a lesser extent BZT aside the club has had major holes up forward and particularly in defence that have required filling for years now, but after dudding up last year by overpaying for Ratugolea once again they have been ignored and kern will already have his pen hovering over his excuse list for dropping out of the finals next year because of `reasons!'

I wish Berry all the best but as good as he could eventually be a 180 cm small forward is unlikely to ever be any more than just the icing on the cake in a team that is so clearly desperate for big man strength in most key positions.

A ruthless club would have rissoled Boak after last year's debacle against the swans, McEntee would have followed him out the door post haste, and unless we are going to rename the club the Port Adelaide Hobbits what was the point in trading in Richards from the wobblers, plus with talk of drafting Barrett what happens now with Anastopolous?

Hopefully, the final two picks tonight will have some decent size about them, but like others it won't surprise me greatly if we pick up a couple of undernourished flankers who will be kicking the dew off the grass in the VFL magoos within a few short years.

End of rant!
Joe Richards 24 years old played 9 AFL games and is given a 3 year contract, he would want to be bloody good.

It's not an exact science, people can get it wrong.
