Can you post the players selected for Port? For those that can't access SEN.
I want Floyd " Pink" Burmeister.
Yes, provided they don't receive any bids. But if they do, then we don't get the opportunity to match.Father-Son Rookie Listing
Father-Son players not nominated for the bidding system can be pre-selected prior to the Rookie Draft by that club if they have nominated for but not been selected at the National or Pre-Season Draft.
Essentially, Port don't need to nominate any Father Son.
Given our F/S are rookie propositions anyway, we will automatically add the ones we want to the rookie list following draft night (provided they don't receive any bids)
Pick 15. (Port Adelaide) – Murphy Reid
Sandringham Dragons/Vic Metro – MID, 181cm
Reid dropping to 15 would be an exciting prospect for Port Adelaide, who would benefit from his silky creativity with ball in hand, which makes time slow down, especially with his offensive movement.
Reid’s poise with ball in hand makes him a unique midfielder who utilises forward craft instincts to aid his game, he roves well around stoppages to find quick outlets and make great decisions.
Pick 31. (Port Adelaide) – Jasper Alger
Oakleigh Chargers/Vic Country – FWD, 183cm
An excellent mark overhead for a small forward, Alger is a flexible weapon that can punish with his work-rate, get into good spots and hit the scoreboard.
Pick 36. (Port Adelaide) – Floyd Burmeister
GWV Rebels/Vic Country – RUCK/FWD, 199cm
A package of raw athleticism, Burmeister’s mobility as a developing ruck/forward looks promising, with the ability to impact in offensive transition and aerially with his marking contests.
Pick 46. (Port Adelaide) – Jack Ough
GWV Rebels/Vic Country – MID, 194cm
Another speciality position in the draft, Ough is a well-balanced inside/outside prospect with a strong understanding of forward half running. He is able to impact in close with his touches and one-two step his way out of contests to keep the footy moving.
Did Reid test poorly? From the vision I've seen he's quick when he needs to be but has the time, poise and class of a Pendlebury or Robbie Gray when he has the ball. It would be hard to knock him back if he's available at our pick. The knock on Reid is pace and if he slides that's the reason. We can't fix pace.
The knock on Hotton is the knee injury and he's 12 months behind the eight ball.
Personally I don't care about him not playing too much next year and if the knee is ok we've got a gun.
Reid vs Hotton I'm taking Hotton.
From memory, he didn't test. Think he got a minor knee injury in the talent league final (tackled by hannaford). He doesn't seem slow slow, but pace isn't his strength.Did Reid test poorly? Could slot in straight away for Houston tooClarke has to be our third pick. Outstanding footballer. Would be great on a wing.
Highlights packages where normally only good things are shown? Why not the live games? We must be watching different highlight packages because Hotton has an inside game as well and is good at centre bounces.

I'm trying not to get sucked into the possibility of Reid falling to us. It is really really hard not to.Our picks from Sen draft
It's funny that people keep talking about his leg speed when his best attribute is to intentionally slow the game down to pick the right target. Reminds me of a certain Scott Pendlebury. He's not slow, but he's not lightning quick either. The Age ranked him around 18 in terms of where they expect him to be drafted. They spoke to recruiters and said the knocks on him were height and leg speed. He's expected to play more as a forward at league level.

Yep. My preference of players who potentially could be available at pick 13 based on recent discussion:
1. Armstrong (realise very unlikely to be there)
2. Reid
3. Travaglia
4. Hotton
5. Trainor
6. Berry
7. Shannahan
8. Hynes
If the first three are off the table approaching our pick, I’d strongly explore turning 13 into two picks between 18 and 25, or turning 13 and 29 into two picks between 16 and 21.

Not a big fan of all that.Pick 15. (Port Adelaide) – Murphy Reid

Spot onThe Reid being slow thing is an interesting one - I've never noticed him to be slow at a level that it's really worth discussing. He's certainly not Dylan Williams.
In the preseason he did alright:
"His leg speed is not quite elite, though he nearly pipped the three-second mark for the preseason 20-metre sprint."
And Kevin Sheehan stated this about him on afl.com.au - "A midfielder-forward who has speed to burn which allows him to burst away from congestion and use the ball with precision."
Now I think he might be overstating "speed to burn" a little bit, but it feels like a bit of chinese whispers has occurred with regards to Reid being treacle slow or something.
Not seen a phantom draft or mock draft with Burmeister at 36 haha that won't be happeningNot a big fan of all that.
I hope we grab at least two talls from the draft.
We have issues at both key forward and key defensive positions.
Can't imagine Robbie Gray is sitting there watching a similar type to his in midfield and thinking he won't pick himOne thing for Reid to slide to us but another for us to actually take him.
Any idea how we rate him?
