Pretty obvious what happened. We're in the middle of a big training block leading up to the finals. Players are flat as a result but look out come September.

That is the third game this year where we have not shown up at all. Dogs and Dees the others.

So many slack defensive efforts, just a really soft undisciplined effort. We don't even do the basics well, defend goal side etc. Real dumb, lazy football.

Also, our slow starts are really alarming. It has been a common theme all year. Ross must be putting them to sleep in his pre-game speech as the amount of games we come out sluggish is just ridiculous.

Didn't see it happening until the first bounce, then the alarms went off and I pondered the body language as they had settled into position a few moments earlier. The way Marshall walked. I think they were scared of those Orangey Fitzroy jumpers, and figured it was 1983/84 again.

Something was really off. That wasn't just 'beaten by a better team'. That was turn up and not be present. Nerves?

Positive is really Phillipous consistency over his last 3 games.
McLennan looks like he might have a career at the level.

If Battle resigns we need to get creative to bring in first round selections than what we don’t naturally have. We need more midfield talent and one pick each year in the first round isn’t going to get it done

Pardon the intrusion, but if it's any consolation, you've likely been smashed by the premiers.

It's all lining up for them - top two all but sewn up (two Gabba finals) and they're peaking at the right time. Only the Dogs can stop them IMO, but difficult to do outside the top 4, even though they've done it before..

I have no doubt you'll be up for the fight against us in two weeks..
