Sorry but I think thatJosh Dolan would be an unlikely selection as we really do not need short & lightweight outside runners. I would prefer a player such as Hugh Boxshall given his height & size. Alternatively, Jack Ough would be a desirable selection but I doubt that he will be available at our 1st selection. Two other mid-fielders who could come under consideration - from my research - with our picks could be Nathan Sulzbergergiven (from Tasmania) with his size & height and/or Luke Urquhart being a fairly powerful & bullocking mid-fielder from WA. OK. Personally, I think that our our 1st & 2nd picks will be directed towards securing a tall key-position forward & a tall key-position defender, respectively, as they are our clear priorities in this draft given the post Grand Final comments of McRae & Leppitsch. The choice of a mid-fielder would also be determined by height & size & potential power given the clear trend towards tall & strong mid-fielders in the fashion of Cripps & Bontompelli amongst others in recent years. Anyway, goodnight & good luck.

Mods ..... WTF is this ?

Also why are people so obsessed with needs in the draft, do you really want your club to take a spud just because they're 195cm instead of a decent small player

Well, that was a fantastic phantom draft. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

It looks accurate too. Thanks to all who contributed to it.

While I think of it, were their any players who were a bit unlucky to miss out?

Picks 29-46 to me is a goldmine of potential. So many interesting prospects that could make it or flop.

Drafters actually need to take needs into account like ModernArtillery who drafted a running defender when the lions have plenty on the list already

Thats easy fixed, next year you can put your hand up to do the drafting for Brisbane :thumbsu: .

Again, did you want a 195cm potato with legs as opposed to an actually decent player?

Pick 68 - GWS - Cody Angove New
Pick 68 - Cody Angove
182 cm Small Forward

I don't get to watch WA footy as much as I'd like but Angove is one that impressed me every time I got to see him, with his forward craft, footy smarts and disposal all appealing traits that make him a high score involvement player. It's a position we're ridiculously well stocked in obviously, but you can never have TOO many dangerous smalls

Pick 71. Gold Coast - Lucas Ravenhill - 199cm - Key Forward - Claremont.

Write up latter.

Chris25 to close the draft out.

Pick 72 Hawthorn - Rome Burgoyne

Without knowing exactly how many list spots Port Adelaide has, I assume they’ll have given themselves enough flexibility to match a late bid. But not in this draft, so I’ll do a sneaky bid and steal.

182cm half back, everything he does with the ball in hand is what you’d expect from the name. Foot skills and decision making is all quality. He just hasn’t quite put it all together yet and general fitness has been a big weak point to this point - but an improving one.

I reckon after a couple of years in an AFL set up, he’ll be well worth the pick here.

First pick is Ashcroft - Did you want him to not match the bid?
Second pick is Marshall - Did you want him to not match the bid?

Pick 62 - Brisbane - Harry Charlson (GWV Rebels/ VIC C)

I am assuming this is your first issue with his draft. Let's be honest, at this point in the draft it is a lottery and getting upset by this selection is a little noval. Feel free to suggest an option you would have preferred. We can look back with hindsight and see if Modern's selections was better than yours?

I literally thought he was taken...

Essendon Summary

Pick 12 - Essendon - Isaac Kako (Calder Cannons/ VIC M) [Matched Bid, used Picks 28 and 31, receive Pick 12]

Pick 40 - Essendon - James Barrat (Bendigo Pioneers/ VIC C)

Pick 43 - Essendon - Lennox Hofman (Sandringham Dragons/ VIC M) [St Kilda elected not to match]

Pick 49 - Essendon - Sam Davidson (Richmond VFL)

Pick 50 - Essendon - Charlie West (WWT Eagles/ SA)

Pick 61 - Essendon - Jacob Newton (Norwood/ SA)

I expect Essendon won’t have all these picks during the draft with the club likely to trade back into the top 30 and likely not take this many players but if nothing was traded I’d be very happy with this outcome.

I was able to nail down the holes I feel needed feeling. A gun small forward, key tall at both ends, medium sizes at both ends and a silky skilled half forward. Nguyen likely fills the need for more dash from half back in the rookie draft aswell.

Port Adelaide Summary

Pick 16 - Port Adelaide - Taj Hotton (Sandringham Dragons/ VIC M)

Pick 31 - Port Adelaide - Jesse Dattoli (Northern Knights/ VIC M)

Pick 38 - Port Adelaide -Will Hayes(Claremont/ WA)

Pick 46 - Port Adelaide - Noah Mraz (Dandenong Stingrays/ VIC C)

I went in with a plan for Port Adelaide, midfield depth is an area of improvement for Port who do have a very strong starting midfield crop but there isn’t much quality coming from the SANFL but knowing the current midfield is strong I also wanted midfielders who could play high end footy in other positions to start with aswell.

Port have a fair few talls on their list but not enough are ones you would consider potential stars of the competition, with a list build you don’t want to have too many talls on the list though. I’ve gone with Mraz as I feel he was too good to pass up and has potential to leapfrog BZT/Ratugolea pretty quickly.

I’ll happily take Montgomery and Barrett in the rookie draft
