Melbourne will want more than future first so give them later pick(s) in 2024 to Melbourne

Then trade for Saints pick 8 with later picks we have, use pick 11 if we have to

I know Blair supposedly is not taking calls but RFC should be considering all trade possibilities to get us in the best position to accumulate and put us in the best position to win premierships down the track

Roos lost 10 of the next 12 games including an EF loss by 10-goals, sacked a bunch of club heroes end of that season and haven’t seen a final since. Tigers won 3 of next 4 flags.

I don’t care if it’s 18. Whilst there may be better ‘players’ at that pick, there’s only 1 x clear best ruckman. So at 18 there’ll be available for example:

Dodson
M Whitlock
Faull
Trainor
Berry
Hotton
Hynes

and half a dozen other very likely types.

If we don’t take Dodson at 18 and take Hotton
and Swans swoop on Dodson at 19, then there goes the premier ruck option in the draft.

But if we take Dodson and Hotton goes at 19, then we still have many other great options at 20, 23, 24.

So I won’t be melting if we take Dodson at 18
even if it seems a little high - it’s all about the balance of players that are available.

Swans just took a first round ruck and Giants have an academy ruck. We should be pretty safe if we do want him.

Rucks are overrated imo, the real differentiator for rucks is if they can take a Contested mark around the ground. Otherwise you can get by with one that just competes well.

Not for me. There’s loads of academy kids next year. If Cats go top-4 we could be looking at pick 20-24 in what might be a weak draft. They have 10 games at the Cattery. It’s a big no from me.

Draft cheat masters are Geelong. I have a close friend that works for their club... We laugh about how shifty they are, today and in the past. They are arrogant, dodgy and shifty as can be with the help of all their local businesses, coterie groups like the black Cats etc and bias local footy clubs. Count your fingers twice after shaking on any deal with these bastards...

Dodson looks better than most draft ruck recruits that come along in terms of the visuals. I have no issue with RFC picking him, especially as a tall because at least with Dobson we know the ruck could be ticked off for one and the rest may be a plus
