I don't think we can miss with the first two picks, I'd happily take any two of Lalor FOS Jagga Draper Langford Smilie with 1 and 6.

The next two picks set us up, and at 10 I want Lindsay more than anyone at any of our other picks. He just oozes class and I want him in tiger colours bad. Reminds me of Hodge and Bartel in terms of an all-round footballer.

Then at 11 we make a decision that will effect the rest of our draft. We could look at a small slide to get some future draft capital, we can take our first key position player in Armstrong or Whitlock, or we could quadruple down on mids and take Allen. Lots of options here.

Finish up with the key position and small forwards, while keeping our options open for trades and we will have set an outstanding foundation for the future.

A little bit of luck and our haul could be something like...

Lalor
Smilie
Lindsay
Allen
Hotton
Trainor
Faul
Dodson / Gerreyn

Plus 1 or 2 future picks.

Can't wait for the draft, and trust the club to nail this, let's get behind whoever they select!!!

theyve already bought him a house in torquay

That’s a big midfield, particularly when you add Taranto, Hopper, McAullife to the mix. Although Lalor will play forward a lot and Allan adds a different skill set to the others.

add Lindsay this year some more nimble types the following year and beyond the midfield takes shape for the next decade.
Need not worry about Tarranto and Hopper they are just stop gaps and will be moving them on asap.

Do you think if a club comes to us and say we want your pick #11 for say 13 and a F2, do you think the club actually tell you who they want to pick? Or is it cat and mouse? The club coming to you doesn’t tell you and you risk trading back for a player you still like on the board.

Always wanted to know that. Even with our pick swaps last year, did we ask the clubs who they are picking?

From the way its looking ^^^ looks to be the case

1. Law-La
2.Ashcroft
3. Jagga / Smith / Draper
4. Jagga / Smith / Draper
5. Tauru
6. Jagga / Smith / Draper

7. Smillie / Langford - For Richmond this would be a great choice to have
7. Smillie / Langford
nip we’re getting lalor and smilie first 2 put your left one on it

It is a Good question but I do not think that info is shared as it could kill the trade

Any draft watchers able to explain the type of player who at the early stage looks to be pick 1 next year? We might not have it but fair chance we do.

Just curious what type of player they are going to be and how that potentially mixes with this crop.

I think the clubs know which player the other team wants when considering moving down

say we wany Lindsay at #11 and Port are wanting Travaglia
Blair would know and if he doesnt he could say. so long as its not for Lindsay we could consider it

And this is where future relationships between clubs can be broken or made if they lie about who they’re taking etc. interesting

Big contested mid most likely.

just wait til i tell melbourne that gawn wasn't as good of a prospect as josh fraser

simmo will be gutted to find out that he's gonna have to delist him 💔
You'd think Google would've told Gawn the bad news.

nah there is a different way.

If FOS gets to 5, which seems to be a chance.

Trade our future first 2025 to Melbourne for 5 and 9 and say to Melbourne, YZE can say it, we are playing the kids we are very likely to be last in 2025, we will be doing a lot of experimenting in 2025, with set/ups/rotations, we are fully invested in this draft and playing them, our future depends on it. Melbourne will want more than future first so give them later pick(s) in 2024 to Melbourne

Then trade for Saints pick 8 with later picks we have, use pick 11 if we have to

I know Blair supposedly is not taking calls but RFC should be considering all trade possibilities to get us in the best position to accumulate and put us in the best position to win premierships down the track
So you think that we can get picks 5 and 9 this year for a F1 but North couldn't even get pick 13 with their F1?

Dyson Sharp 188cm contested mid. If draft was held now for 2015 he’d go #1.

For me all our picks need to have one thing in common they need to be able to kick the footy and have good skills both non negotiable we got to many unable to execute both now.
Really good post this one. I have been wondering what type of player Ooze would want that compliments his game style.

good kick and speed. That’s why I’d prefer Smilie and Reid over Allen I think

We will have much better offers than geelongs i think
For 24 ?
We won't accept anything from any of the probable top 8 sides.
Wce won't if they have eyes on Wagner.
Leaves probably out of the desperate ones Cats & Ess.
Bombers are interesting.
After kako bid.
Pick 11 for their f1
Pick 24 for dees f1.
(2024)-1/6/10/18/23
(2025)-1/5*/6*/19
That's 6 top 10s in 2yrs.

Pick #11 for Bombers F1 is still not a suitable trade imo

I wouldnt be trading out #11 for Bombers F1
